At this point I would say yes but the end product will be the key. I will definitely put certain strains out later and some earlier for sure next year. I have a plant that I put in a hole from a previous year. I added nothing and it looks great no yellowing at all. So the containers will have to give them more of the mix next year. keepem green dirrtydAt this point are you okay with the amount of yellowing some of your plants are showing? or would you add/change your dry mix for next year?
I am still trying to figure out what is an "acceptable" amount of yellowing for large outdoor organic plants, during flowering.
I use the amendments because I know at what ratios everything is going in at. Then I can adjust from there from year to year. Very pleased so far with this years mix not sure if I will change anything. keepem green dirrtydHey dirrtyd, got a question.
Why do gardeners choose a bunch of dry amendments instead of something like an Espoma tone product or a Down to Earth complete fertilizer product like vegan mix or transplant mix? I have a couple of different theories, but I wanted to get your opinion on the matter.
Thanks.
Yeah I have been using it for a few years now with great success. If you reamend with lime and oyster shells or some gypsum you should not have the ph issues. As long as it is allowed to cycle in the soil. Even if you just use two of the three imo. Thanks the containers plants could look better but overall I'm happy. Some of them I just took a plant out and put another in without adding nothing. The AO smells great going to definitely have to buy some seeds of it. Keepem green dirrtydHey dirty Im curious youv been using the Kellogg's patio plus for afew years now right? It's got a lot of peat in it and the big rumor behind Peat is when reusing it, it breaks down fast and lowers the ph. Have you had any problems with this at all?? i like the price of Kellogg's soil and it seems really good it's even recommended by the rev for true living organics, but iv still been opting for more expensive coco based soils becauseim worried about ph spiking when I re-use the soil. Does re-amending with lime and oyster shells fix the ph drop before It happens?
Your plants look amazing btw
Yeah it is funny they only are on the one plant the othere Blackwaters are fine. The BG is getting some nice buds on it right about now. Going to be real happy with the harvest on it. There will be alot of dry ice hash this year. The medijuana I was not happy with the growth sticky as hell would like to grow it out without a reveg.I have been lucky so far but they are all up in the bagseed but I got them before they did too much damage. I will be chopping that one in 1-2 weeks. Can't wait to see what that BG is gonna look like.
Glad to hear the Kellog's is working for you also. Just let your mix cook about a month and it will definitely make it through flower indoors. The Blackwater is a good smoke problem I have is out of four seeds all the females looked and grew differently. I would recommend if it were stable doesnt seem like it to me. keepem green dirrtydis there some scent on certain plants that makes them more attractive to caterpillars than others?? i had a ridiculous amount of moths all season but i have not seen a single caterpillar and iv been looking on all my plants once or twice a day.
oh btw thanks for the advice with the Kellogg's i think i may start messing around with it to try and make a solid cheap indoor mix that requires little additives during flowering
hey dirty also have you run the blackwater before? how is it?
hmm i think ill just stick to my own blackwater cross in that case(i think mine may even be more homogeneous because my kush was an ibl vs og clone). iv got a mendo purps clone that is amazing and i dusted it with a special oldschool kush ibl male and iv got afew hundred seeds i was hoping to go for a blackwater effect. im going to save them until i have the time to pop at least 100 seeds for a pheno search. The Blackwater is a good smoke problem I have is out of four seeds all the females looked and grew differently. I would recommend if it were stable doesnt seem like it to me. keepem green dirrtyd
