Can someone explain WTF I should vote for presidents.

I still have some faith in our system after hearing a DOD worker tell how a senator made a 3 star general wait in a lobby because a local PTA group wanted to talk with the congressmen.

The problem is all the bullshit noise messing up communication. If we scream loud enough the goverment might actually hear us.

cause people died so you could. its not a perfect system. just the best going all these years...in many, people like socialts, take over a place, and can stay in for ever. like cuba. and lots of others. why not try one of those, if u are unhappy here? why? cause if u talk like you and so many others do, agaisnt their own county, they would be jailed at the minimum, but usually shot, or beheaded. still hate your own country? it lets u piss on it all u want. maybe thats a reason to stay?? pot cures lots of ailments the number on on the list is AMBITION! what made us great. this is why, i will never vote for legalization. look what the legal alcohol has done for our society! and tobacco. why would i want to place another burden on it? awww! i know....but, im not a liberal. sorry. i love my country and the people overseas who protect it. when the day comes, that i let the liberal media brain wash me into talking sheet about her, i will be obligated to end my life......
Why would legalizing pot be a burden?

I told you, your vote matters because each president will select very different justices for the supreme court - and that court has a direct influence on your life.
so are you saying WHO gives as shit till the supreme court is involved?

a lot of my friends ask the same thing, but only because this is such a blue state and it's obvious who's going to win this state. i tell them to at least get their ass down there to vote on the ballot questions, and while they're there, just vote for the damn president. the MMJ question has got 4 of my friends to register to vote for the first time in their lives, and they're all 30 or over.

was the op specifically referencing the whole electoral college thing?

I would agree on voting for the non presidential part of voting.. too much money is wasted on these Presidential campaigns (why we do not have a say in this) The money should be spent on the people getting to know the people who actual VOTE for the pres.. yet I doubt many even know who these people are..

does it make someone feel better in saying they voted for XXX president over the other when they did not study those who actual vote on our behalf.. lets say I vote for XXX pres yet all the people on my ballot I just nit pick on based on their party... and then hope they vote this way..

so it comes down to voting in or out one particular party whose views-ideas etc you feel you have the most in common with.

it's a screwed system when lobbyist visit and can influence the politicians more then the public

Well, I'm not voting as I don't think it matters and I'm not settling for the lesser of two evils. I don't want anything to do with this mess. Nothing I've read in this thread has changed my mind.

So I've been told before.

Didn't change my mind then and it won't now.

Shall we try again? The makeup of SCOTUS should have you go out and vote. You are likely doing something that is against state law and certainly against federal law. SCOTUS justices with right leaning bias will invariably make the life of someone accused of any crime harder and less stocked with any rights that might serve to balance the power of the individual against the power of the state. The left tends to give the benifit of the doubt to the accused.

In sort, if you are a criminal, you would be well advised to vote for Obama.

So how did 8 years of bush treat ya?

no better or worse then the 4 obama gave the 8 clinton did the 8 ronald gave ... the problem stems from most of the US learns to adapt to having less or having more.. since the change is not always drastic enough it's usually blamed on the president prior too the one in office..

I was doing great back in 1992-1999 only beacuse of the industry I was in was doing well (debt collections) then as that phase wore out I moved to government sector and it was meh for 9 years but more secure... now that security from gov is at risk (they have closed 3-4 local court houses here in less then 10 years) and those people I once worked with are being laid off as the workers with seniority are replacing those new employees

we as a society and as people who can deal with struggles will survive we may not all have what we want... but in most cases we have what we need or have the ability to seek out assistance.. and I am not refering to gov assistance like welfare.. these programs loose more money they they make.. health care reports just released over 750 BILLION $$ in health care fraud annually...

http://www.google.com/search?q=750 BILLION $$ in health care fraud

We have no say in where this money is spent we have too many cases of fraud and deception and flat ass greed in the gov offices... take the GSA (heard any news on this lately?? nope) but they were all over the place a few months ago.. but meh.. not news worthy anymore??

So that's YOUR motive for voting for Obama? Obviously, just by the nature of this forum, everybody on here is likely violating Federal Law. State law is a different matter, as you know, there are medical states and I happen to live in one.

Do you really believe scare tactics will change my mind? Keep trying if you must.
