I do this, from a high times article I read when I was a kid: Side note: I am in a very dry region and plant will be dry to the touch in 2-3 days always. So if they are dry and crispy as you say on the ouside but stem does not snap yet, which is good, start cutting them down and place in a plastic bag from the grocery store and poke holes in the plastic bag, then place inside a paper or card board box. I let them sit like this for up to a week sometimes then I jar or bag seal. I like the plastic because you do not lose as much trichomes and keep the buds looking as good as you can. The evaporation from the bud will seep through the plastic holes and yet keep more of the moisture and go to the paper bag or box. I really do not like throwing buds straight to paper, they dry way to fast here for that. In the south probably not as much.
