I live in the middle of a corn field no fancy stores around here being serious,I've checked the grocery stores and our nursery sells pets more than plants. But honey i can get lol.a big bag of sucanat from whole foods is cheap as hell. molasses is pretty damn cheap too...i only use sugars on day 25, 35 and 45....thanks nugs!
i had three distinctly different phenos of ace, and its funny you posted this, cause last night i was noticing how different the 2 i kept for outside differerd from one another....i kept a lemon pheno, and "fruity pebbles"...the lemon pheno is shorter, and stouter, has bigger colas, and has a skunky edge that compliments her lemonene....she also has zero color...average density and quite resinous....the Ace #2 that was culled, looked almost identical, but had much less resin, and had lemonene, and a touch of berry.....Fruity Pebbles is totally different, she is taller, and has more of a sativa bud structure and her color begins at day 20 of flower in her swollen pre-calyxes, she smells of blackberry wine/cola, with hints of lemon/lime, and an artificial cherry syrup sweetness. she is medium dense as well....they all exibit what i call "rocket" colas.....long single colas with secondary branching starting about 10 inches from the tip...reminds me of a rocket at take off, with the secodary buds being the plumes of smoke, and the main cola being the vessle......all three phenos had excellent stem ridgity, and all were perfect candidates for Main-Lining......What's up weed nerds, wondering what you can tell me about Ace of Spades phenos. So far all of mine have looked just about exactly the same... pale-medium green very much alike in growth. But at day 16 one Ace of Spades is showing signs of being either fast developing and/or big yielding (buds look almost like 3 week flower buds rather than just over 2 weeks, the other 3 AoS look pretty much the same for buds). Is there a pheno of Ace of Spades that is faster finishing/bigger yielding? Any general ace of spades pheno info from those of you who've grown it? No signs of purples yet (except a boy I didn't keep)... night time to peak daytime temp difference is roughly 20 degrees (63 - 83) -- is that enough to bring out the colors? So excited that it's getting to the fun part of flower -- going to be interesting to see how liquid nutes compares to my last super soil grow
I've never bought into the whole molasses every watering hype. I use it when making a compost tea and thats it. And when I use it for teas I have a specific amount that I use because their are other things in my teas that need to be broken down as well (kelp meal, rock phosphate, fish hydrolysate). What up nerds. Cc, as always, good to see you around. Sticky fingers and scissor hash season is upon us. Is there anybody out there thinking that molasses doesn't do anything or just not using it at all? Personally, I just don't see anything great about it versus 20 years of never seeing it used before. The product was Hi Brixx that a buddy used for the first time ever this season.
Am I premature in saying anything now as we have not smoke tested it yet, it definitely smells deliciouso for sure. Does anybody want to enlighten me on the concept? Peace
Because food <> food. N <> P <> K. Mg <> ca. Food isn't the same, it's got components that do things. Molasses is a sugar/carb source the point is to help them rapidly grow in #s and increase availability of the nutes. The same way your soil already has mycos in it almost always, but a lot of people spike them with myco powder to either get a specific type of myco or speed the process up. I'm not saying molasses does what it claims (haven't decided yet on that myself) -- just that that's the theory of why you would want to use it. More microbes = more nutes decomposed into a form the plant can used = more nutes available to the plant = better growth.I've never bought into the whole molasses every watering hype. I know some use it to help feed the microbes but that's something I've never quite liked either. As long as your soil is properly amended then there will be more than enough organic matter in the soil for the microbes to break down and feed on. Why would they need the molasses if there is plenty of food for them already?
folks didn't like the #2 because it lacked potency, and that was the main reason we tossed her....but the FP is a heavy hammer nightime, eye-drooper, and the JTR dom Ace#1 is up and clear, with a warm blanket....my favorite ATM.....really been enjoying your content lately, and read everything you post...lets see some more of your photos!....be well bro, nugsYeah I'm definitely noticing the rocket colas on mine... they haven't filled out but i made 6 main colas and they are all just straight up around 8-10" at the moment long (early in week 3 of flower) with almost no side branching except at the very bottom... there's barely enough side branching big enough for me to take cuts next week i'm hoping those develop a bit more before then. i'm trying the 3-week flower cuts to get monster branching in the cutting. Sounds like your lemon pheno is a JTR dom? I actually think I confused another plants bud with the AoS bud this morning it does not seem particularly bigger/more developed than the rest. Everybody's looking great though. Apparently the other one of the two I gifted to someone else was a straight up black cherry soda pheno he said smelled/tasted just like it.
Speaking of monster branching, I got a monster branching Apollo 13 pheno! I've never really heard of this as a particular trait -- obviously they like to be topped and make bushes... but this one is just insane with the branching off everywhere - branches off of branches off of branches... guessing this may be genius trait. I'm sure it's going to be the yielder of the bunch -- if the genius high is there then I may have a keeper I finally found one apollo pheno that is a little touchy on the nutes... it's kind of unnerving... that one probably wont' be the keeper
Nothing unusual to report on my cheeses other than they put off a particular funk. it don't smell like cheese or danishes, that's for sure maybe very stinky cheese. reminds me of sensi star's smell.
what's the difference on the effects between the different phenos or are they all fairly similar?
Life is better when we have compassion and empathy for others. I'm glad you are getting your TGA genetics started.last show was so good..i came home from work and watched it again...thanks sub...u are teaching us who dont live in a medical state..or people who never grown before the right way to do things...there is so many wrong ways out there....people want to rush shit...or not take the time to watch the plant grow...i finally got some TGA genetics..thanks to a special weed nerd....he relly hooked me up...my heart was touched man..and in this crazy world we live in with everybody just worried about themselves...this guy shinned like a diamond....you and your methods are rubbing off..me and my wife both work and have three great kids...all girls..so money is beyond tight....so when i mean this gift was special...my gratitude could never be put into words...but when im there ill show love....thanks again to all the n2erds out there...especially the one who hooked me up...ooohhh yea got home today...and 2 AOS were popping out of the dirt and 2 of THA FLAV...IM SO LUCKY..
Nice! You have become comfortably numb Still no word from sub on harlequinX as far as general release... how do you keep a nerd in suspense?HarleyX pheno testing this morning... I am highly medicated and my chronic pain and spasms have faded into the background...
more to come on this
I don't like hearing about phenos lacking in potency, but they're an unfortunate part of life If one out of the four is a solid keeper I'll be quite happy Actually scratch that those AoS are 1/3 of my next harvest so I need'em to all be at least decent if they're not all stunning It sounds like the pheno I sampled recently shared some phenotypic expression with fruity pebbles Flattered you're following my thread... i'm definitely going to be posting more photo updates the further into flower we get.folks didn't like the #2 because it lacked potency, and that was the main reason we tossed her....but the FP is a heavy hammer nightime, eye-drooper, and the JTR dom Ace#1 is up and clear, with a warm blanket....my favorite ATM.....really been enjoying your content lately, and read everything you post...lets see some more of your photos!....be well bro, nugs
It would only have any effect like you mentioned if you used an excessive amount. The bottle always recommends too much (1-2 tbsp/gallon, and i don't think even that would 'gum up' the soil)... you'd probably have to use it almost straight or not diluted much to cause any real issues. At the levels I use it at and most liquid nutes include it at, it definitely doesn't hurt. Two things. I would never use molasses every watering. It will probably gum up your soil restricting root access to oxygen.
Second- honey is expensive compared to molasses. Honey some say has antibiotic properties but can come with a lot of impurities and parasites, mites etc.
