Another quick note, this time on what the payroll data say. Again, you want to focus on somewhat longer-term trends, not monthly numbers. Over the past year the employer survey says that we’ve added 1.8 million jobs, or 150,000 a month:


And this number is likely to be revised up.
This is substantially more than the number of jobs we need to keep up with population growth, which is currently something like 90,000 a month. (The number used to be higher, but baby boomers are getting old — the same thing that affects the household survey.)
So the two survey are saying the same thing: job growth fast enough to make gradual progress on the employment front. Not fast enough; it will take years to restore full employment, and we should, um, end this depression now. But the progress is real.

Yes. We do seem to be having trouble getting libertarians to join in. I don't have a lot in common with republicans, but I'm going to vote Romney anyway. Want to know why? He is the only chance this country has of defeating tyranny. Neither one of us got the nominee we wanted, but I think we can both agree that Obama and his failed big government policy have got to go.

Thats too bad. I'm not ready to give up. Not unless Obama gets re elected. The way I see it is we can stop the bleeding by voting in Romney, THEN we work on Romney.

Look. I don't have any serious issues with Gary, but do you really think just because hes on all 50 ballots that means hes got a shot? Nobody is asking you to sell out. Just look at the threat Obama poses to your freedom, and your son's future.

There's a lot of legitimate concern over what Obama may do since he won't have to worry about re-election. Remember the whispered comment to the Russian(?) dude? It's not always about race. idk FW well enough to say.
