great clone strains in MI

I see on craigslist blue dream clones and whatnot sometimes and wonder about the authenticity. What strains have you guys had success with clones being great genetics in the Brighton surrounding area?

There are many issues finding good clones locally (and forget Brighton), be it availability, bugs or quality. Do your homework and if you do not know a good grower to get a known clone from, you may want to consider a seed purchase. That said, take a good look in Ann Arbor and Flint for genetics locally.

I grew from seed only for years and have had great results. Then I started getting clones and everthing changed, bugs, male plants , powdery mildew and shitty genetics. I have gone back to seeds, I order from peakseedsbc, attitude, and the single seed center. With all the freebies and good deals out there for $40 or less you can add a few strains to find a good mother. Do research on your strains because they are not all created equal and there are new breeders hitting the market everday that are surely putting out whatever they came up with quality or not.

Don't forget the phenotype equation when dropping beans. It's not only a male/ female thing.

I've been running seed runs and was considering taking an "easier" route. Glad to find out the clones arent as..."easy" as i thought before going after some and dedicating the time. I had my suspicion about people just throwing out whatever they had and lacking quality.

Be prepared to quarantine and treat new clones at least for a few weeks. iso alcohol spray (1part water/3 parts iso) if u suspect mites, then process will take longer if ya have them lil buggers.

Good to know Abe. Are you using 90 or 70% type ISO? At a 1 to 3 part ratio, you are looking for a 75% ISO 25% water solution correct?

majority iso, don't know real concentrations. I throw 1/4 water in there to buffer some. May be able to handle straight 70% iso. consider testing first for slight burn or not. I've soaked the plant repeatedly and it toasts the buggers. clearly easier on smaller plants.

Belle will be offering good clones. Starting in just a few days. Literally. Any strains in question I will grow out online, and we will see. She is considering going to market one day a week, or one day every other week.

This is one reason why i hate seeds. Besides the fact they are slow and you might get a boy, finding the participial pheno a strain is famous for might be like hitting the lottery. This is why once i find a winner i make a mother and clone it. I have one particular cut i've been growing for 5 years now and i'm sure i'll have it for another 5...

I was lucky enough to score some blue dream today. He said it was real deal. Of course, I do not know. But it is good as fuck, IMO. Amateur Grower is getting a little now. Tricyn9ne called dibs on some as well.

Michigan and its clones are a joke for the most part , one really has to know who they are working with if they wish to be free from pests , disease , counterfeit genetics , herms, males bad pheno selection and such ...

Way to many kats find it to be easy cash and dont give a shit about what you get but then again there are some really good people and cuts to be found if you search and find the right circle .......PotSnob

Thats why I say its not worth the risk, I have learned that the phenotype risk is a much risk than all of the other risks and the pheno risk combined, especially when working with a breeder you trust.

There are great clones all over the country. You'd be surprised where they are hiding. Michigan bred clones is a better question though. Used to rock a strain called nova back in the day that an eastside team member made. NL x skunk. Was a beautiful strain. Lost some of it's luster after a few years.
