Has anyone heard of an "inspection" of their grow room?

Funny whe my buddy was pulled over the cops knew how much his edi rec was for. They asked why he needed so much. If you have cancer and on chemo or going to be on and have paper work the cops wont touch you with a ten foot pole unless you ask them too. They laws are created to protect people like you. The mmed cant even afford to keep their offices opened and staffed. The mmed email for mmj delivieries is also down. There is a member that explains more how the system was a slush fund. So i dont see how they can afford inspectors. I know of a half dozen people with higher plant counts who've never been inspected.

That's actually a bit encouraging to me. If they know what your rec covers they are more likely to honor it. If they assume everyone is limited to 6 plants/2 oz you would have to show them your rec and convince them not to take you in for being over 6/2. I think they'd be less likely to hassle you if the MMED tells them you can have more than the standard counts.

You must be looking at an old form. The new form your Dr fills out (as of Sept. 2012) has a place for them to fill in the plant count recommendation.

Thanks for the informative discussion, I'd sure like to know if there actually is such a thing as inspectors, or if the swat team is who comes to check you out if the state wants to see how yer doin. As far as growing, my start has been very much a fun hobby that I can do even in my reduced state. Combining science and construction with the excitement of a stealth grow is really a labor of love. Every person I have met during my trips to the hydro stores has been terrific. I love growing this herb and hope to be doing it better and better for a long time.

I don't mean to be a dick, really, but is this for real? The legal aspect of going over the plant count is frightening. Looks like the state could lock you away under some minimum sentancing deal for going over 6 plants if you had say a couple dozen between veg and flower. Not finding this sort of detail in the news reports, just the scarey stuff. Does anyone really know how the folks are making out who get popped for going over their plant count?
Any yea I get the good advise about keeping a low profile, no odor and so on, but it is good to be prepared for the worst, like when the cops are going house to house looking for a real crime and run across a grow room with a few extra plants. My paranoia has them filling jails with non-violent offenders as their own job security.

that info I posted came straight from someone with a huge backyard just full of weed. he and his gf had a 48 plant count each and he had at least one other person that signed him as caregiver. I'm not saying there's a bit of truth to it but I don't think he had reason to lie, he was over by x number of plants, they came out and took the overage only. In the end he was charged with a few felonies, lost his house and that's the last I've seen from him other than a comment he'd made about "enjoying the fruits of his labor". he's the one that informed me of the fines for overage. Larimer county knows to keep their fucking hands off now don't they? they ended up getting sued for 5k a plant that they destroyed.

A friend of mine (Denver-ish) had a "knock and talk" from the fuzz last Spring. I guess he had an odor problem and someone dropped a dime.
So the cops ask about growing, yada yada. He's coy at first, of course, then decides its better to just cooperate.
So he shows them his Show, and all the documentation. They count plants, weigh product...He was like 2 plants over, and maybe a few ounces over. They could see he was trying to stay legal, so they asked him which plants he wanted to yank (the two smallest clones of course) and whether they should take the over-weight in trim or buds (trim of course).
They were very cool with him once he opened up. They said they couldn't wait for it to just be legal so they wouldn't be forced to enforce laws the people don't want.
Obviously, Op, ymmv. Some municipalities and PD's are pretty lenient, others strict. Some will abide your script, others will ignore it and insist you can't have more than 6 plants period. You might get more insight on this from the local hydro store or hanging at a dispensary.
What's on our side, though, is what's called "jury nullification": As long as you keep your activities relatively within the law, most juries in CO will aquit. The police and DA's know this (in fact it was explained clearly by the Boulder DA on 60Mins).
Just keep your Show on a need-to-know basis. Do what you have to to keep light and odors contained. Try to keep close to your numbers (at no time EVER go above 99, because that's federal). Don't let product sit around...and good luck on your treatment.
