Newbie needs advice on 1st grow in cupboard, smell issues and size

Hi all,

I want to grow 1 or 2 plants in my cupboard inexpensively.
It measures 3x2.5 foot, but I will be looking to put something smaller in there such as a PC case or small cabinet.

The main issue that is putting me off right now is the smell.
I live with parents and do not want them finding out. I only want to grow 1 or 2 plants for personal use and want it to be well hidden.

My cupboard does not have any near access to a window and I'll be unable to drill any holes into the attick etc.

Can someone please tell me the best route to take?

I want it to be:
- Mega Stealth
- Smell Proof
- Fit inside a 3x2.5 foot space.

I am ready to buy lights and a cabinet/pc case but the main issue whether I go ahead or not is the smell it will produce.

I do not want to spend alot of money on a carbon filter.

Hope someone can help recommend the best case/box to use for the plants and a solution for the smell.

what i would do is move out of my parents house before starting an illeal grow but hey what do i know and who wants to respect the people who brought you into this world

I've a feeling your on the wrong forums guys.

Now that that's over with can anyone provide some advice on the technical aspects of the OP.

Would appreciate some helpful responses unlike the 2 posters above thanks.

you wont be able to do it man, the other guys are right. evne if you made your own carbon filter or bought one then you need a fan. then what if some smell escapes you're fucked man either tell your parents and ask if they wanna get baked with you or dont do it

u can easily do it, i agree with posts above but fuck it. U will need negative pressure from a strong fan and a good carbon filter then u will have no smell worries. Double insulate ur cabinet for sound and heat/smell. Ur problem is the electric bill but u can use grorites kinda setup with 23w cfls just no where near how many he uses to not be noticed, insulate ur fan also so no noise escapes, im sure u can get all aspects coverd.

sorry but i agree on what everyone else has said, there will always be a chance your parents will smell or hear your grow room

Not to mention, how will you explain an extension cord running into a cabinet?

LOL @ "the moral police" but I believe more experienced growers are giving you the heads up! It is difficult to grow in such "Top Secret"...... like away from members of your household. You will quickly find that to create the proper environment you need to bring in circulation (fans that make noise), Lots of Light (that can leak out of your enclosed area), and face it....it's a plant and needs ROOM to grow! As for smell, I suggest you cut that down to a single plant. If you manage to grow and flower it, there will be virtually no smell, and you can get an idea of how strong 2 or more plants will smell. You will still have enough for your personal medication :-) Otherwise invest in as much Light as you can afford. Light is everything! Higher wattage Cfl's will keep you from having to run 20+ little 23 watt bulbs. Look online for both spectrums you will need in higher wattages. Oh yeah try growing in soil, it's less gear to run in your space.

I grew in my parents house. Did 3 grows under there nose intill I got cought. Not because of smell, but because of smoke after I was testing the bud.

You need to grow northern light. Because it a low odor strain. Carbon filters to loud, so you need ONA gel/block to hide the smell. Some dirt, some water, some light. Your good. Keep in mind though, even a smooth criminal one day must get cought

You will only get away with it if your parents don't really give a fuck about you and are never in your room checking on you while you are gone to school, etc.

And they need to be almost complete idiots to not notice it in other ways.

it can be done but it isnt smart. but ganjapussy has it right, low odor strain.... the ona gel will work fine for one plant.... small fans. its something you have to have them out of the house to set up... and you need to have it where they Never go or will catch you going.

I think its a great Idea. If your a minor, its your parents fault anyway. So I would buy an ozone generator and keep it in the room with the cupboard. Not in the cupboard, just in the room, around the area. do this like 2 weeks or a month before you actually start growing. be sure to mention the ozone generator and how awesome it is and practical for killing germs and mold bla bla bla. make sure they come and smell it and see it in your room, or whatever. put it on a timer and follow the directions so you don't kill yourself. Then after any dust of uneasiness settles. then plant the bitch. Seal the door to the cupboard with foam insulation strips. I think that's your best bet, ...

Judging by their seed, I would say they're pretty well accomplished in that field.
