Sudden problems? Water ph testing! Nutrient lockout? Advice needed :3

I am about to purchase a TDS and ph meter to avoid future headache :) Do you recommend a digital soil ph meter or a water ph meter?
I agree, having the right equipment can make all the difference! (From my fishkeeping experience :P)
I am also going to flush my plants and I'll let you guys know how that goes in a day or two (hopefully well!). What can i expect post-flushing? What is normal?

Should I test my water's ph with the added ferts? I'm curious now if it lowers it significantly.

I hope you have fun at the expo! :D

Not those PH meters with probe that you stick into the soil. Like CN said get one that is meant for water solutions

Solution meter? I am looking at a digital ph meter and a digital tds meter.

... ah ok, so by solution meter you mean a liquid digital ph meter.

It is easy to PH your soil there are different ways to do it, Like making a muddy mess with neutral 7.0 water and your soil, then strain it several time get the solids out then PH the water and it should reflect the PH of your soil

Ok awesome! I'm about to buy one on ebay :)

What can I expect post-flushing? How will my plant respond? When should I start feeding again?

You can expect some droop from your plant from an "overwatered" condition for a day or so. But as the soil dries, it should perk up.
If the flush "took", you should see the sickly look get better, and the younger parts of the plant will get that green thriving look.
As for when to start feeding again ... that's so hard to say at a distance. It's something one learns by experience with "reading the plants". Fwiw. cn

Any nutes left in it's system will continue burning it but not much, it will use them up quickly. Then you will notice stunted growth, It will stop growing while it recovers then after giving just water for a little bit the lowest leaves will start to turn yellow indicating it is pulling nutrients from it's own leaves to feed itself because it needs food.

At the point when the lowest leaves start to yellow is Probably a good time to start lightly feeding it.

You can feed it before that but, I have no way to tell when, Maybe someone else can jump in and tell us.

Basic Tools above that are used to avoid Lockout , not that it will never happen again but this way one will know positively what the fuck is happening with there pH and PPM !

Oh yea, Your highest growth will start to look better too, but when it comes time to feed, it will eat its own older leaves for the new growth, That is if you are still only giving it water

This was my experience, My plant was affected by salt build up and nothing else. So what I mentioned about the continuation of burning and stunted growth might not happen to yours.

^ That's awesome! Where was this? I wish I could have gone..
As for my plants I think it's too soon to tell how things are going..I can't really tell of any changes so far.. except that my seriously affected fan leaves are just getting worse and probably ready to die off.
