So when you factor in lost pay for, say 2 months and I see you were working in ND, so whats that bag of weed costin you? 8-10k? Thats if you find a job by the time your hair is clean. Not to mention the next job has great potential to not pay as much.

Ouch.

But dude, I get it on the not having a life thing. Money is only worth so much. If money was a struggle, I'd just stop trying and live out in the mountains, maybe grow some dope and use it to barter non-essentials from the locals as desired.

That sounds like so much better of a life, than chasing dollar bills hoping for fast cars and cool plastic toys that really are all just a bunch of time wasting turds. But yet here we all are, chasing that fuckin dollar.

Anyone else sick of playin the game that previous generations have laid out before us? Somedays I know that if it all started to burn, I'd just stand there and watch.....

well i made up my mind. i just paid $230 for a tranny flush/oil change (yes, expensive, i know)

then i'll be on my way, making the 3 day, 2,000 mile drive baaack to NH. i've got $550 left...that's $400 for gas and $150 for food/drink

then once I get home, I'll have a check arriving in the mail for $800 or so

and I plan on being in NH through the middle/end of january (thanksgiving, xmas, new years and my bday at home)

then i'll be back in ND when I KNOW i can pass any drug test. But the first week or 2 I'm home i'm buying a quarter and smoking it to my face :)

good riddance oil field. I'll be back

While the location of the state sucks, the people (locals) are some of the friendliest and caring around.

I spent 3 yrs living in Cartwright, (pop. 15) 25 yrs ago, I know times change, but folks there looked out for each other.
On days off I would drive around, drinking beer, checking out the badlands and what not not seeing anybody, pull over to pee and it seemed like thats when someone would show up to ask "is everything ok?" I would nod, they would wave.
I was laid off for 4 months and my Landlord, Mr. Skogan (who was a farmer renting to me oilfield trash) brought me about 50lbs. of beef he had slaughtered, and said "don't worry about the rent you'll pay me when can."
I wish I had that community here.

Never lived there... love fishing Devil's Lake though.
My experience living in that region of the US... you need a boat, a couple jet ski's, key chain push button starter for your truck (winter) and a snow mobile. A quad too, if you know someone with land. I never got real in to hunting, but a lot of people live for it.

The only thing I disliked about living there was not being able to get fresh seafood. The food scene in general is pretty weak... but that's what ketchup is for... ;-)

quit your job to move back in with mommy and daddy cus the big world was to harsh for you? It's their own fault for raising you so I guess they deserve their looser unemployed pot head son home for x-mas to sponge off them! Problem is most of America has this attitude, so here we are! Do whatever you want to do bro! If work gets to hard just quit man, Boss tells you to do something instead of asking you the way you want him to?????? QUIT that bitch! Let someone else fit the bill! Pesky work doesn't allow you to smoke weed???? FUCK that! As long as your mental health is good that's the main concern! Why not just get on SSI for a little while till ya feel all warm and fuzzy about the world? Maybe mommy can rub your tummy till it feels better then you can get a job and stop being such a dissapointment! You think your parents are proud of their son moving back in cus he wanted to quit and smoke weed! Holly shit I hope none of my kids grow up to be a piece of shit looser like you!
