1000W dude if your room is big enough and you can control heat issues why wouldnt you go with the 1000W.. No brainer! More lumens!
That's what I'm talking about!!!!1000W dude if your room is big enough and you can control heat issues why wouldnt you go with the 1000W.. No brainer! More lumens!
Pretty sure you mean 1000w. Yes, the magnetic will power 1, 1000w light or if you get the splitter, you have 2 600's because the 1000w mag ballasts pull about 1200W.I thought the ballast runs 100w by it self?
Get two 1000W's !!!! I run two 1000W HPS for flower in a 10' x 10' room. If you get a good big fat hood like the Raptor you can get a easy 5' x 5' light foot printPretty sure you mean 1000w. Yeah, definitely time to shine some experience on that...magical 1000watt magnetic ballast can put out more than the new age digital ballast....lolI think you are confused about the power consumption/output on the equipment you are using.
A 1000w mag core n coil ballast consumes about 1100 watts. It does not put out 1100w!
Two 600w lamps, in the area where they overlap, deliver much higher lumens than a single 1000w, and illuminate a much broader area. I think part of your problem, if you have one, is the height of your plants. I don't see it as a positive thing that your (indoor) plants are six feet tall. Maybe that's just how it is with sativas, but I'm sure I would be training them to stay low and have a lot of nodes. OTOH I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to sativas, so maybe a 6' sativa is like a 3' indica.I've been growing for just about a year now and I am curious if the 1000 watt set up is even worth the trouble... My plants are all six feet tall, i'm just concerned about the final yield.
Not really. Really though, just depends on your grow style. I just don't see 2x 600 out perform a 1000w after cost start up, and just more shit to go wrong. I see what you trying to say^ but like I said- cost start up, more shit to go wrong, more stuff to move, more bulbs to buy.600 are the most efficient hps out. I think most would agree that 2 600 will out perform 1 1000watter. You can run them closer and spread the coverage. Coverage alone will allow more plants and higher quality buds across the whole room. And for a full room (assuming spare bedroom size), you could have 4 600's doing 1lb per light. Only one or two lights is not very efficient.
You have some big plants if they are just going into flower. Is that after the stretch?
