yummo, just got me a nice porterhouse steak and a side salad, and although i do like a salad from time to time, man, there is something about meat that makes my mouth water just looking at it..
for some odd reason, the salad doesn't have the same effect on me..

so who's with me?? who loves some dead cow?? :D
Fuck ya!
When I go to a new steak house, I almost always confuse the server when they ask how I want my cow, and real quick, I say "Dehorn it, warm it, serve it."
But, when I cook at home, the best is on the grill!

I've only had Spam once and everytime I see it I have flashbacks of my dad handcuffing my hand to the table forcing me to finish it...yes, my dad was that poor, shit was nasty.
My dad used to cut it into chunks and use it for fishing, and my husbands family used to fry it with eggs for breakfast yuk

I never could understand the fascination with Spam. People have tried to doctor it up for me. It still didn't impress my taste buds. Why bother eating it if you have to mask the flavor to fool your gag reflex?

well, is that much different than say cheap wines like thunder bird or some cheap malt ,, taste awful, but does the job. i guess spams job is to fill the belly...

but i'm with you carne, why eat something that tastes like poo, surely there has to be a better choice somewhere.. :D

I prefer hufu, its the healthy human flesh alternative. Comes in a can like spam. Tastes like man.

i'm with filet roasts. buy the whole thing, cut off what you want and freeze the rest. or cook the whole roast for thanksgiving or whatever holiday and share the goodness. bleu cheese on top makes it perfect. i've eatten filets right off the grill with a knike and fork. mmm, heaven. oh and a beer washes it down perfect.

Do you not rest your meat?

Meat needs a rest?
It is one of the most important things with regard to cooking meat. All meat should rest following cooking. As racerboy states. it makes it jucier, but it also makes it more flavourful. All that blood that oozes onto the plate when you cut into it, that is flavour that is no longer in the meat.

and the only place i want that blood is running down my chin like i said earlier, not on my plate.. that's why i prefer my meat medium rare.. imo, when you cook it past say medium, you totally kill the taste of the beef as you pretty much cooked out all of the blood and flavor, and it takes on a more grilled taste..

I'm not a major fan of beef, although the occasional hamburger is good, and a rare prime rib. More into chicken and seafood. To me, most steak is dry and its hard to chew....and yes, I have all my teeth. Kinda tastes like cardboard.

sounds like you're eating all the wrong cuts of beef objohn.. for instance, filtet you can pretty much pick up with your hands and just rip a piece off it's so tender, and it a lot of times won't even need a steak knife to cut ... no cardboard taste there imo...

i think meat that's done more tastes more card board'ish then rarer meat, another reason i like it red and raw, lol..

I enjoy it here and there, but i would take shellfish over meat any day of the week. Shellfish is my mecca. Although i do have quite the craving for a fillet steak cooked blue right now.

While i love crab, specifically soft shell crab or the small ones eaten in asia that you simply crack open like a fortune cookie and suck out the brown meat, i find them a pain in the arse and get's boring after a short while. But yes, shrimp is probably my all time fav food, but mussels, clams(not too keen on razers), lobsters, langoustine, cray fish. Oh god yes. England is stupid though, we're a small country, we have sea on all sides, yet good fish, let alone shellfish, is near unafordable for most people

Me and squid and octopus, oh my, i'm borderline obsessive about the stuff. This is one of my fav snacks of alllll time
