24 hour darkness? is it worth it?

ive been growing for a few years and had a shot at various approaches; soil, dwc, coco, and ive tried the 24-48 hr pre-harvest darkness thing. what im curious about is whether it would make sense to expand upon the idea that if a plant pushes more when given 24 hours of dark then would it not make more sense to give it bursts of 24 hour dark throughout the flower. im aware that fuckin with the light schedule can produce hermies but what if it was done at the last 2 weeks of flower...for instance 2 weeks before chop start doing it on 2 or 3 occasions? would it push, grow, push, grow?

Not really as it also adds stress to the plant so doing it over and over could induce hermies or lessen the ending weight

not really suggesting doing it constantly thru the grow but just over the last couple of weeks before harvest, by that time hermi probs arent really an issue

I personally do a 48 hour dark at the end. I have had incidents in the past lost power few times in a month where lights off for 24 or so hours multiple times and got crap qauntity and small seeds in buds. this happened around week 5 and 6 of 8 week flower

the stress created would be counter productive. I suspect no appreciable difference would be realized.

not disagreeing with anyone, just a curiosity question. ive done the dark period before a few times for the simple reason it costs nothing to try it but i was curious as to what others opinions mite be.

A plant going hermi is ALWAYS an issue it can happen at any point during growing. The later in the flowering stage the less time the seeds / sac's will have to grow, but they are still there. Also placing the plant in the dark after they have lived there entire lives on a schedule will have a good chance to shock them witch will stunt growth. So IMO the cons out weigh the Pros. I wouldn't do it myself.
