CFLs Week 2/3 (2 - 22" 6500k and 8500k light bulbs)

Do these look like they're on track? The one in the 2 liter bottle that's the tallest was actually the only one that started veg on november 17th. All the other plants are maybe a week to a week and a half younger. But I figured all would be okay since I have them under 24/7 light anyway. Most of the stems are pretty strong because I have a fan on them maybe 18 hours a day. That sounds bad because it would likely dry out the soil and whatnot, but I check on these plants periodically and never leave the fan on without a timer if I'm not home. Anyway, I'm just wondering if these look alright? The one with the most leaves is actually among the shortest plants for some reason..

But I'm curious as to how big plants are able to get in solo cups?DSC09292.jpg I don't have enough room in my closet to put them each in pots lol. But as soon as the room is ready, I'm moving these babies to the grow room and transplanting then. The room should be ready before these start to flower.

Ok, so they have 8500k bulbes for growing. what color is it on the spectrum! Keep one seed per cup. You dont want those roots to get intertangled

I just checked again. It's actually a 7800k bulb and I'm not sure what color the other bulb is, but it's also 22 Inches long. I have both of them over the plants though.

I figured having more seeds per cup would increase the number of successful plants. Didn't realize all of the seeds would grow. And by that time, I figured I'd just leave them in there. Then individually transplant them once I had the bigger pots.

def gotta fix that one per cup or they become root tangled each plant requirs it own root zone they do look on track besides that how close are the lights

I know I should transplant them asap, but that would be a problem as of now because of the area they'll take up once they are in individual containers. How long do you think I have if I wait to transplant them? Would the growth be stunted in any way? And the lights are actually maybe 6 inches above at the furthest point.

If you don't have enough room for all of them than leave them in those cups a little while. They will compete for food and root space and the strongest will survive. That will be the one in the cup you can keep but the rest will be a waste and it doesn't necessarily mean you'll end up with the strongest girl of the bunch for pheno or such but she'll likely be the best grower. Otherwise you need to transplant them yesterday..

How long do you think it'll be before they start to die off? I'll do it a few days before then I suppose. I want all 20+ plants to mature and thrive, only because I want to improve the chances of growing girls.

What I would do is calculate how much room I have so I know how many I can deal with. Once I've figured that out I would veg them all to about a foot and flip them to flower, once they've shown their sex I would cut as many clones as I can handle and grow those out. OR, depending on howuch height you have you can veg the girls and cut clones off them, mark them down and flip the clones to flower. The ones that are females you can give to a friend and keep the "mothers" for yourself since they'll already have a decent height compared to the clones. Either way you need to make up your mind ASAP cause otherwise your gonna leave yourself in a shitty situation and possibly stress the girls to the point they grow balls on you and than you've wasted your time and seeds.

I understand everything but the last bit. Explain the shitty situation you mentioned, please? If the girls are stressed, they'll grow balls? Meaning what? They've become males? I'm confused. I might just have to do this tomorrow then. How tall can I get them to be in solo cups? I just don't have the room for bigger pots, but I do want every single plant I've grown to survive, just to increase the chances of multiple girls.

I'd just dump all the cups out, break up the soil carefully, pick what plants look the healthiest or keep them all, then bury them in there own cups but bury deep where there is only about an inch of stalk showing, get a oscillating fan blowing on them for making them strong and your on your way. Keep the light just a couple inches above them and raise it as needed.

You can technically grow a full sized plant in one of those cups if you have the dedication for leaching daily, watering/feeding multiple times a day. You have no room for mistakes or errors with a pot that size. The nice thing about a soil grow is that you have the soil to buffer any mistakes you make.

thats just my 2cents.

I transplanted maybe 15 plants yesterday. I tried gently breaking apart the soil, but somehow some of the roots still would not dis-entangle, so a few of the roots ripped. I figured that'd be fine, though it would add a little stress. Any idea on how long this stress should last and when I should start seeing growth again?

Full size meaning how tall? And I'm most likely transplanting yet again once they hit a foot anyway. But I don't know what you mean by leaching daily, I haven't fed any as of yet. Just watered. The soil said it had the nutrients, though I did just realize the soil I used said "Not for pots" lol. By that time it was too late anyway. They seem to be doing fine.

Also, you can't flip to flower, tell the sex, then flip back over to veg, can you? I'm just curious. That would be very convenient. And can you vegetate clones? I don't understand that whole concept fully just yet.

All that means, "not for pots" is the difference between 'Planting mix' and 'Potting soil'.
Usually, planting mix is not intended to drain as well as potting soil, for the simple fact that in the ground, your runoff can go anywhere, not just out a couple holes, and also that the grower usually does not intend to give as much attention to a plant in the yard, as they would a plant sitting on a window sill.

One could, and some do, but if you read some, you will find that when this question is asked, it is usually recommended to just take a cutting, put it into 12/12, and leave the plant in veg. (Easier, takes less time, and won't chance stressing the plant).
