Sweet. I'm really looking forward to the results. Couldn't you scratch the leaf and apply the gibberellic acid and kinetin? Also the the top of the leaf is able to absorb water. Well, however you do it, I'll be really interested in the results.I think I may be able to help on this one, the addition of gibberellic acid and kinetin should be able to force some of the leaf's cells to differenciate into actual growth tips. The application may need to be very precise with the use of soaked gauze wraped around the stem in order to force it to penetrate the cells but it should be posable. These hormones are commonly used in plant tissue culture for helping the plant grow out of a callus, the callus often being taken from leaf material. I have both hormones so I will try this out and get back to you guys... oh and they are cheap chemicals so maybe I can figure out the recipe for everyone else.
LMAO!!! I'm interested in this thread; did it really just grow a root then die? I'm still scratching my head about this growing a stalk. ...but stranger things have happened. Count me in.fuck u.................and fuck the 10 letter limit...
Yeah sure; we have thousands of pics of leaves growing roots on here. Pix or it didn't happen. BTW, nice job pulling this out of 4 year old archives.I've done this before as an experiment, the leaf roots easily (nothing amazing at all about that - unsure if the applaud is sarcasm or what), and what generally happens is nothing! There is no growth, the roots keep that leaf alive and that's it!
