Do you think we're in the middle of a 'new age of enlightenment'?

I also think it is very interesting that these planets come into exact alignment on a date that is extremely close to 12-21-12. Exact dates aren't really relevant for this type of alignment though, because the planets' orbits are so large. Alignments are measured in 'orbs' which represent a range of degrees on a circle. They are ballpark figures.
Please show me how they align. I see them as quite unaligned here. This is a snap of their positions in nine days. cn

i think many of you have hit many important factors. it all comes down to two questions in my opinion:

are we heading up or down?(is it getting better or not)
is it too little too late?

because we might come up to an awesome essential humanitarian mind orgy, but maybe we won't be able to overcome the hardships we are to face (like climate change and food scarcity.)

Logges, imo you nailed it. Climate change and the scarcity of good land and food ... but above all water ... is what I worry will knock the pins out from under our economies. When they are hurt, we'll regress to an age of wars, famines and manual agriculture. Where the others see a future of light, I see one of fire. cn

...maybe it's not about lineality? (curiosity, here). Wouldn't this, ironically enough, have to do with the pole star?
The ecliptic, galactic and celestial poles are all offset from each other.

And not to be flippant, but is there any point, any information value at all to an "alignment" that isn't about lineality or linearity?

...I'm playing with the idea of a human map. I too realize that the 22nd will find me wrapping some last minute gifts. I'm on here to entertain me, and some ideas.

Solar Flares kinda scare me. They happen pretty often but usually they're too weak to affect us at all. It did cause a blackout in canada sometime ago. But if a big enough solar flare hit us we would be without power for a long long time.

...wicked post. Strife asked me in SS&P what I thought would happen - plain words. I used plain words. The full explanation would have been that this 'started' in the 60's with that revolution. Seems as though it sparked a devolution because it 'met' people where they were. I'm thinking that this 'event' is a chance to correct that. "Sacred".
I like that you used 'started' in quotations. This cycle can be traced back for thousands of years, with synchronic events of similar nature painting a much larger diachronic pattern of unfoldment. I agree with you that it could be considered a devolution because of the way we have been heading since then, but another part of me sees the importance of 'devolving' within a grander scope of 'evolving'. My whole point being that all paths eventually lead to the same place - source. And thank the lord for that! :)

Humanity has been devolving spiritually for some time now, and we are certainly in dark times. Let us remember that these are the times of learning. The 'elite' who constantly bombard our reality with images of sex, drugs, and all means of ego-fantasy are supreme teachers in a sense. They are forcing us to wake up and say "this is fucked up" and "lets change it". Again, I feel grateful for this unique opportunity to learn and discern the nature of our spirituality.

Woo Woo talk right here.
Nice try at pigeon-holing me. Whatever label you want to place on me is fine, just remember that it is reflective of your own state.

...here's a question: does humanity 'deserve' a new age of enlightenment? Has it progressed in such a way that is conducive to an 'enlightened' state of being?

note: light is not 'heavy', this is where I'm coming from with this. Humanity seems too burdened with humanity to lighten up.
I believe we do deserve this. I love your play on words, "Humanity seems too burdened with humanity to lighten up," it's very accurate. Collectively, we have endured countless lifetimes of fleshly lessons. We have literally gone through hell on earth - war, torture, rape, whatever - you name it, we've endured it. We are approaching a unique time in our evolution, a time where we are realizing our self-imposed limits. We are slowly coming to illuminate our invisible chains of perception that have kept us repeating the same cycles over and over throughout history.

Technology is a double-edged sword that is allowing the most-rapid spread of information that we've known in some time. Of course it can easily be used (and is being used) to do the exact opposite, at the exact same time. I wholly believe that we will soon reach a day when we realize our 'inner' internet. Every cell in our body contains the blueprints of the entire universe. Together, we will open the doors of knowledge that have been hidden from us for so long. The world will once again appear holy and infinite. The Garden of Eden is a reachable destination for all humans. Look around, we are surrounded by a natural intelligence so beautiful and pristine; we've just spent the past however-many years ignoring it in favor of possessions and money/work.

But yes brother, we deserve it. And it is ours if we want it.

It is not a direct alignment. It is called a 'square' alignment, actually. Plenty of info out there about it. Mine comes specifically from a book called "Cosmos and Psyche" in case anyone is interested.

The scarcity of good land is interesting because urban growing models show how we can hydroponically grow in elevated buildings dedicated to providing nothing but food. Also the use of our current agriculture to provide energy instead of the choice of sustenance, see for example corn. Is also a matter to be considered. Water is another good point, for a great example of poor water supply see Haiti.

Just a ramble I wanted to add

...I would believe that neer's study in 'the skies' makes us look like the ones that are looking up at it, still. I'm not posting this to raise him up like that. I'm saying that I'd certainly accept his critique on this matter. I have the same view of psyche as related to cosmos. His comments have always come across as a tether.

Lol, and those dummies are quickly losing steam!

Dumb arguments coupled with elderly audiences aren't taken seriously in any arena in the real world these days, and the taboo to 'respect your elders' regarding any dumb shit they happen to say is being broken day by day. The old "grandma grew up in a racist time, so it's OK she thinks the delivery boy will rape her and steal her shit" argument is being turned into "times have changed.. get the fuck with it you old racist bitch", as they should be.

Ignorance should be called out in every avenue, passes are no longer being handed out due to old age or a blood connection. Young people are realizing the liberty of other people, even though they may not know or be related to them, is more important than some old, racist, assholes sensibilities.
Someone needs to study up on Freemasonry. Aristocracy is alive and well throughout America, and the favor system/blood connection is highly valued among the aristocrats.

I really appreciate your honesty in this post. I would like to add my perspective, without the intention of forcing it upon you!

The future of fire and the future of light could look the exact same. If there happens to be some more powerful events to go down, it may very well be chaos and fire. I personally believe we were not born on this amazing and unique planet by chance (by chance biologically or physiologically maybe, but outside of divine will - no 'chance'). Every thing happens for a reason, and you can release fear in your life based on that notion. Give your personal will to the divine, tell the Lord - You take control. If you are truly willing to ask - and then listen - for an answer to any of life's questions, you will find what you're looking for in time.

You have such a beautiful and wonderful purpose canna. I truly hope you can see that.

the tides of change are constantly moving... so many sides to see it from, go full circle and end up back where you are. I think we are on the cusp of great change that will happen over the course of a few decades. I hope the change is good, but Im not sure, the world and humanity could use that for sure.... but one mans heaven is anothers hell, what I see as positive and good change others would view as negative.

And I disagree with your perspective on current social and world events and behaviors. IMHO the world was much better off 600 years ago. Sometimes regression is the best progression. Go back to start and get our priorities in order and hold fast to our values... not compromising for the exterior.
