I come at these things with an engineer's attitude. "Alignment" means something both specific and definite. Definite means that there exists a precise numerical criterion for Pass/Fail. The question of measurability is moot, since astrometrics is by far the oldest branch of astronomy. And astrometric claims,and the imprecise handling of those, is where imo the astrologers tread hard onto the toes of the astronomers.
Here's the thing. I otoh do believe in unguided random chance as one of the core engines of existence. God, meaning, purpose, spirit, soul ... to me these are all manifestations of the same thing, for which i find the word magic to be appropriate and inclusive, are things in which i do not and currently cannot believe. I have no ways of studying them, and I do not trust my own experience or stories of the experiences of others. I have experienced remarkable and utterly compelling things ... and found them to be incorrect. And every way, path, discipline, method of approach to spirit-experience I have found hinges on just that ... believing one's own mind. i cannot go there. in the most direct sense possible, i don't have the faith.

if the whole time the earth has existed would be a clock, we humans only represent less than a second on this clock. In other words, we are but a blip! in the history of time, maybe even a fluctuation, an error a crazy electron defying physics who knows.
