Hello woh family! I just took 220 successful cuttings. Raped the hell out of my mothers. I had to hire a local buddy to help me get the ezclone to work. I got a 120 site ezclone and two humidity domes full of clones. Imma wait a month before I clone again. my friend said according to his experience I can at least pull off 160 oz dry off my two rooms. I hope so. With 460 plants I hope I get that much. Thanks to everyone who helped. I'm glad I made Hempy buckets my choice of growing method for my first grow.

Depending upon your wattage (I can't recall your light setup Smooth - remind me) 460 plants X 9.75g = 160.17 oz. 9.75g per plant is totally "do-able", I just pulled 14.25g/plant off of my BC God's Bud plants from soil, average around 12g/plant between two strains in my last couple rounds. Best of luck, 460 plants is a shit ton of work tho...

Can anyone point me to a good resource (e.g. thread/article) on managing a hand full of 'small', trained mother plants? I usually only run two mothers and I tend to lack on my trimming maintenance to keep them size limited, they tend to end up as trees. I am trying some new strains, trying to pick out the best pheno of the bunch, and I need some general guidance on keeping them small and rotating them in and out on a more regular basis. I am thinking supercropping, LST, etc needs to be in the mix; I have somewhat of a road map in mind, but I like to look at a clear framework that someone else has mastered instead of re-inventing the wheel...

Another question Based on your own observations and experiences, which is better for the rez area: 100% perlite or a 3-1 Per/Verm mix. Examples of importance is not needing to water as often, higher volume of growth and yield, Possible nutrient lock-ups or issues etc. Thanks

Either will be fine, it's just a matter of how often you'd like to water. With perlite only hempy's, they require daily watering unless you have cooler temps. I've been able to go every other day in my 100% perlite, but I find they are like BONE dry for that watering. They plants don't show any signs of drooping or problems though. With the vermiculite in there, you can retain water for a little longer. You might be able to stretch it out an extra day, but I've just stuck to an every other day water and the plants I have going look pretty good. Stick with a PH of 6.0 for hempy's though. It's when you dip below 6.0 that you start running into deficiency issues.

I should be able to regulate my temps pretty well. Right now I have daytime stable at 78.3 (give or take a degree) and night-time in around 75-77. I will be doing some experiments with temps. I'm doing a SoG so was thinking that as the plant gets taller, internodal spacing (bottom branches) gets wider. My thought is if for the first week n a half (give or take) I have my on/off temps as close together as possible to hinder the stretch and keep internodes tight. Then the next week n a half have the temps flux 10-15* to get a lil height out of them but keep the tight internodal spacing, as the top 6"-12" is usually tight nodes. Depends on Dom but want to see if I can make some pop bottle 18" colas We will see.

Thx DrD, I may just do half full Per in the rez and the other half with the main mix, As I won't know till after a runto find out how my system will run. Thx for the heads-up/reminder on the ph of 6.0 give or take slightly, as i'm used to ph set for soil. Will I need Cal/mag or will there be eno in my tap-water/GH nutes? I will also be doing a few in a 2.5L that I found at the Dollar Tree. This round most will be started in 1" cubes with 4 started in 2" cubes. I love this sh*t Peace!!

As far as the rez is concerned, building it with more verm is slightly counter intuitive. If you are going to mix in verm just use the same mix from top to bottom. IMO if you are going to take the time to mix the rez different, then make it all perlite, it wicks better than verm and what's the point in holding water in a rez? and in the same thought of mixing the medium in different layers. Then I'd only put the verm in the top few inches of the pot, to hold the moisture near the surface of the container for the top lateral roots.

I've run both a mix and straight perlite, and I really couldn't see a difference*. so I opted for straight perl, mainly because its easier to recycle later, the perlite will dry out where the verm tends to stay wet much longer.

It probably wouldn't hurt to grab a half pint of cal mag to be safe. I'm using RO water and not tap an have to add cal mag. I don't trust city water and want to ensure my plant don't feel the brunt of it. To me it's an insurance policy.

Thinking about upgrading my 600w to 1000w for 2 X 1000W. Will probably purchase the ballast and bulb tomorrow

Thanks, Jela - Wow, that thread is exactly what I was looking for. 15+ years at 8" tall, just awesome.

One thing he didn't talk about - watering frequency. I bet he waters a small, root bound mother like that once every 2-3 days in soil.

I have been thinking about training a bonsai mother using the main line pruning method. Thoughts?

Thinking about running 2 X 1000w and then re-using my 600w, running 144 plants, shoot for 4+ lbs per run. But, right now the plan is to stop using my 400w HPS mother plant light and replace with my 600w (currently running next to my 1000w in my bloom room) for more light over my mums.

Well the 420 is on my 2 week veg clones to flower room. I'm going to have a mother room with 40-50 mothers. So I hope for a good harvest but this is my first run and it's gonna take 6 months for harvest so it's not that good of a run but oh well.

I have a journal just get too tired and lazy to post. Considering the grow space is not at my residence so by the time I get home I knock out. I'm balancing growing into two full time job and full time community service as well. After 26th I should be a bit more free. Next grow house will be a full on grow house. Not just two rooms. Ill be bored and living there so while I'm not playing black ops 2, ill be posting everything for that grow. Cause pretty much ill be sitting at the house with a gun and a laptop so ill have plenty of pics then. Ill take updates of the rooted clones in a week for this grow tho.

The thing is I usually just post here my updates don't bother posting in journals anymore.

Well shiva u wanted to do a sog grow. And my partner wants to do 40 large plants in 7.5 gallon buckets. Those large plants will veg for at least one to two months so ill be using them as mothers too. But originally I only have 15 mothers. We seeing who has the most yield using what method. And Feds only come knocking when lips are loose. We don't even tell our gfs so we should be okay. Plus 90 plants and 420 plants is the same charge in Texas. Like I said before go big or go home. When I was younger I was caught with 2000 pills of x. I got probation. Two yrs before that I got caught with 2 grams of cocaine I got more time back then for 2 grams then 2000 pills of a class a controlled substance. Plus I rather do fed time then state time any day. Fed prisons are like country clubs compared to them slave plantations I've been to known as state prisons. Like I said grow big or don't grow at all is my motto. If I was to grow 50 plants would be the same money invested as 420 so why not make it worth it?
