I did ask first. I have no religion.

Religion is archaic. Fair enough when man had few morals and there were no police to enforce the law religion was used as a way of controlling people. Well the masses at least. The bible was written by men.

O.K. Let's take the immaculate conception, now say you're Joseph. Your WIFE that you've never had the pleasure of de-flowering suddenly comes home and declares that she is pregnant. Do you:

A: Kick the shit out of her for being a filthy slut?

B: Immediately file for a divorce?

C: Stick by her and blag everyone that the conception is immaculate?

I know what I'd do.

And what of Jesus, what was he doing for the first 30 years of his life? I reckon he was a bit of a Del-Boy character, a wheeler and dealer. He spent his time with criminals and prostitutes. Jesus was more than likely a pimp.

What about the murderer Moses? 65 or whatever he was, around this age anyway. He has no life, he's a tramp. He hears all this talk of christianity and decides to jump on the bandwagon. A baby could have written the 10 commandments, let alone a pissed-up tramp.

Don't really know much about Rastafarians. Only they are pleasant people that don't talk about their religion. I have two people that i suppose I could ask, it's just whenever I'm in their company I'm too busy laughing to think about it.

All I do know is that their word for God is Jah and that ganjha is a sacred herb. They also originate from Jamaica, Rastafarianism that is. Their symbol is the Lion, I want to add 'of Judah' there but I'm not sure if this is correct.

My argument isn't about any particular religion, although Christianity is by far the easiest to pick apart, it's about religion in general. I mean come on... We are amidst the 21st C. Why do we need to continue to believe in an afterlife or a Creator?

He has nothing?!, did you even read the book....lol

From what I read of your post, I see that you don't know much about the subject.
For one, there was NO Christians around for a many, many years after Moses. Also the 10 are just the first 10 of 613 Commands that were given to the Children of Israel. On how to treat others, how to treat the poor, how to treat widows, how to build the worship area, how to treat the land given to them, and how one is to live personally.

I don't think a baby could write them, and to call and disrepect the pillars of others faiths is just uncool. So in one post you attack the Jewish and Christain pot_heads/growers, and make their faith to be that of a fool in your words.

I don't think Islam is cool, but I am not going to attack Islams pillars of faith just because I am looking for a flame war or such.

If you are going to attack someones faith, then you should spend the time to know what it is that they believe in.

Keep it in PEACE:joint:

I know enough to know that it isn't worth knowing any more. Why should I study in depth something I know to be a lie. I'd much rather put energies into something worth while... like slagging off religion. It's comical, to my mind, how so many people actually get irate about the subject. To me religion isn't a serious subject. That is my belief. In fact it's a joke. It's like believing in Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy. The exact facts behind the bible and it's stories are distorted to the extreme. So I prefer my version of Moses' 'vision'.

A clever man in a world full of God fearing fools. Jesus and his firm.

I find it insulting when people suggest there is a God, and if I can handle it so should people when I confirm adamantly that one doesn't exist. To moan on about what I've said doesn't move the debate forwards. I wrote it to stir a response, and a defence of religion. I've received a response, unfortunately there's an acute lack of defence.

Organised religion, as I see it, is the evil perpetrated on us by the powers that be. There are many good philosophys that can come out of religious teachings, but one must look at the religious leaders to only know the hypocracy that is handed to us. (jerry Fallwell) for example, is probably as close to the Devil as George Bush. Spirituality knows no religion, or all religions, it transends all forms of "religion". Gandi was a true spititualist, Jesus, Mohammed, Budda, Chrishna, etc., all spiritualists. You either believe or you don't. I'm thinkin that if you don't, when your on your deathbed, and you have nothing to believe in, maybe a little light will come on, I certainly hope so for you un-believers. Maybe, in my view, you face the the trials of this life to learn something you need to know before you pass on to the next incarnation. I have a real hard time believing that this is it, one chance for all eternity. What about the Kings of this world that live a life of luxury and the rest of mankind that vary in status from poor to poorer. A street urchin in Afganastan has no chance of having a decent comfortable life, yet it is a life lived. Is it just by chance that we were born in comfort instead of abject poverty. I believe we are all working to better understand our roll in the cosmos and we progress to a higher plane as we become more tolerant and loving of our fellow beings. With billions of planets in the universe, can't you imagine one where there is no war, no starvation, no poverty. The instant of new life formation is universal, in other words the "Creator" instills the spark of life to every form in the universe. Why couldn't you die here and have your spirit moved to a new life on another planet, be born anew and work your trials again and again untill you reach the perfect state, one with the Creator. This is my opinion on "religion"

It is one thing to not believe what others may believe and such; but to make a fool of the pilliars of someones faith, say be it Moses, Jesus, Budah, and so on, is just something saved for "anti-{pick a faith}" fourms and not here. Whats next, lets bring out the cartoons of Islamic pillars of faith!

You being insulted (but you don't mind insulting those who believe in God) by those who suggest there is a God is something you need to grow up on; Becuase most of the world believes in a god one way or another, and I could careless if they believe or not believe as it does not effect my life, and when it does, then and only then will do something.

Also I am not here to debate God; I have studied with some of the top people in faiths, from Christian (Spent time learning under Dr. Lester Sumrall), Jewish (spent many years learning from Rabbis in Canada and Israel) and all the way to Church of Satan and could careless you personal hang ups with others. I am here to learn and pass on what I learned in Growing Bud not debate faith, and if you are bent on debating faiths, then you need to read the BOOK (Books) first!

I'm not interested in debating the history of faiths or the ins and outs. I want to debate the need for any religion when such a thing as a God doesn't exist. This is something YOU need to grow-up on.

You think that because you are religious and have studied religion that you have more right than me to say whether there is a God or not.

Fair enough, my jokes about Jesus etc. we're a bit out of order to some. Does it help if I tell you I was laughing my ass off while I wrote it. Even when I read it back now it still makes me laugh. Should I feel guilty about this.

Feel free to tear me apart on my belief in Evolution, also feel free to join another thread and teach people how to grow weed.

what we sould really note is that all of this sad little existence is so futile its rediclious. our planet our solar system its all gonna end and our time here is so short why waste it on figuring out how we got here or even where we're going lets just try to :joint: enjoy it before it ends.

My sentiments exactly. When there is no afterlife we really haven't anything to die for. The only reason to our existence is to live. Godhood is Our eventuality. It will be Us that will colonise other planets, and with that we shall reach other Alien civilisations. To them we will be God.

The two main religions are at best 2,000 years old. We've managed to trace our ancestry back 3,000,000 years and beyond. Our direct ancestor Cro-Magnon appeared on the scene around 65,000 years ago. We've been around a lot longer than religion. If you're going to believe in anything then believe in yourself, because this life we have gets shorter by the day.

Here we go, we crawled out of the swamps, grew legs and eventually descended from apes. One question: why are there still apes hanging around? I'm not so sure about the Garden of Eden, I think that more symbolic than factual, but I do believe in intelligent design, somewhere way back then a soul was instilled in the beings that would be us and a few of us still have them. If you prefer to believe you have none and your only future is dirt, well good luck with that, I hope you are a King, because for you, this is as good as it gets. I may not be a king but the little light within keeps glowing, and hope survives. can you imagine the human condition without hope? there would be mass suicides.

There are different species of apes. There were also different types of intelligent apes like us. They all died out along with neanderthals as Cro-Magnon slowly took over. The apes that ate vegetation our ancestors didn't see as a threat. They weren't after our food and they never attacked us.

Since then even normal apes have come a long way. Ever seen a chimpanzee hunting party? What about a baboon capturing and eating a flamingo? Evolution is still here, we are all still growing, learning and adapting. This is the way of life.

Either you get it or you don't! I assume you mean that you live on in your offspring and they evolve over time. Gee I wonder what we will evolve into, maybe a being like the big head space aliens. I think not. the sum total of our evolution was sumed up in the opening sequence of 2001 a space odessy, where an ape picks up a femur and beats another over the head. We;re still doing that, only with bigger sticks!
