Oh shiiiiiiiiit this thread is epic

These are what we call "timeless toys" for the most part... things that would be fun even now. I love that. I mean I'm looking at this spirograph box and the tinker toys container and I can't help but think how they look like they're from the 60's... but I had both in the 90's! Timeless i tell you. Now i need to go find a place to buy tinker toys... I hope they still exist...

Edit: Aww, I found some but they're plastic. Fuck that, gimme that wood.

Edit again: HOLY SHIT LOOK AT THAT PRICE http://www.amazon.com/Hasbro-54809-Tinkertoy-Classic-Jumbo/dp/B00004TFRN/ref=pd_sim_t_2

Erector set was the shit too. We had so many cool creatively-focused toys. Now it's all kits and instructions. Gimme dat big bucket of legos, an erector set, a set of tinkertoys, and a side of lincoln logs, plz.

Actually, the modern Lego Mindstorms is one of the ultimate creative toys. I might get one someday, or at least replace my 2.0 brick. And Erector sets - yes, those were cool too.

I remember having this as a kid:

As a twenty-something, I remember seeing the same model in a comic book shop priced well over $100. I don't even want to think about what it would be worth now. Oh well.

Wow this thread is bringing back some memories I thought were long gone. Good stuff OP.
I haven't thought of the Black Knight in decades. My first skateboard.

I was wondering what those were...
not sure what they're called in the mainland, but we call em pogs here. they're milkcaps. one side has a picture and the other side is ussually blank. you stack em up and try to whack the stack with another pog. whatever you flip, you keep. simple game, lol. we had shops pop up just specializing in pogs, lol. people would collect them here just like they were baseball cards. oh by the way, pogs is just short for passion orange guava. I guess they came in bottles and had caps on them too
