World Of Hempy

It wasn't a breeder pack. It was a single seed in a little plastic baggy. I'm just wondering if they had all the baggies in a pile and just didn't double check them. I havent given up on them, we'll see what their response. They did arrive in 7 days and I have no other complaints about them.

Edit
They responded fast. They again offered to replace it on my next order. They seem to have good customer service. Rusty, I bought several single seeds so there were several little baggies in the group. Itd be easy to skip one.

I have ordered from the Tude a couple of times using the Coffee mug shipping and no crushed or empty bags so far. My Last order I did get the Barneys Farm Acapulco Gold and Pineapple Chunk, and they came in the original Packaging,, Just folded up to fit in the bug, all of the freebee's were in the little plastic baggies.

Back from vacation at day 20 of 12/12 and the G13 PE's are stretching right along at 39" above the mapito with bud sites everywhere. Really bushy, filling in the tent nicely...can't see through them. Base stem is ≈7/8" thick with stem at the base of the tops ≈3/8" thick (very hardy strain). Starting to get a familiar grapefruit smell with just a hint of skunk. The mapito has been great but it is different from past coco hempy's. It appears to retain the characteristics of rock-wool with great downward drainage but not much wicking on the up direction. The top couple of inches gets a little dry and I have to over water on occasion ...(lots of overflow at the hole)... to get the top layers saturated with the watering halo's. Still running a 3 day watering frequency but the buckets are so light I'll be switching to 2.5 days soon. The stretch should be over soon and I'll start the PK13 adds @ week4-5. Time to start germinating my next two during Xmas week; just trying to decide which strain to do next. I'll also fire up a closet grow with an auto-flower. My past auto's projects in coco hempy kicked royal booty.

Sorry for the crappy pics...got to get a new cam for my shaky old hands.

Hempy fever has been running it's course again and I've had time to think while sitting in airports during holiday travel. The mapito I'm growing with right now gives me ideas that may work on a different scale. I know a guy who grows in the big 8" Grodan rockwool cubes. The cubes basically sit in a huge net-pot and he waters by simply picking up the whole plant and dunking the cube into a bucket of nutrients. He then sits it back in the net pot for a few days until next watering. I guess the net pot allows air to surround the cube. I was wondering if this method of large rockwool cubes could be incorporated into the hempy method. Rockwool is not a great wicking medium but retains optimum water/air mixture if not saturated by sitting directly in water for long periods. We've all drowned a sprout or two in it haven't we? Large rockwool cubes appear to be best for top drip methods and we do water from the top in hempy. What I wonder is if you could combine the big 8" cube in a 2gallon bucket with a "coco chunk" bottom reservoir with a coco coir fill-in around the sides and top. You would get the natural gravity flow through the rockwool and the coco would suck it back up around the sides making a nice convective movement of water, keeping the bucket fresh and free of root rot. The rockwool won't stay saturated by sitting in the res, and might even hold water longer than our traditional hempy mediums giving us a break between watering's.

Here's a quick 3D model I did to show you what I mean...let me know what you think.

@ jella10. I don't see why it wouldn't work. I just haven't played with rockwool enough to fully understand it's properties. I've just used it for sprouting and that was a while back.

In the world of experimental hempy's. I set up what we'll call a "supchaka beta 1.1".

Okay a 3gal smart pot fits real snug in the bottom of a 5gal bucket. I had a girl in flower in a pot of "basement mix" (coco based soil substitute) and it was going to need more food to finish, so it has become the test subject.

Building this beta with mostly OC 14-14-14 & a little OC+
Cut the bucket off right at the top of the hempy hole. Filled with perlite to the bucket rim. Added very thin layer of coco and then added the first OC installment. Continued layers of coco and OC with the top OC layer being a little of the plus.

Here's a shot of my in flower, hardcore supercropping. Somehow the plant is thriving after this assault last wk. And a couple shots of the light.

Tried getting better pics of the Pineapple Express, this time with my Android....wanted you to see the fat base stems and the tight inter-nodal spacing of the lower branches that I always get with hempy buckets..if these things stop stretching in the next few days at the ≈40 inch mark it will be a joyous bunch of x-mas holidays...the last grow with C99 was very stressful managing light heights in the tent during the first 3-week stretch.

Nice lookin' stalks, real hardy. And man there's a lot of foliage, is there haircut in the near future???

I think your res is already better than my plate :)
I would have never thought of it, if it wasn't for your plate. I can see great potential in the concept. My plant is not the perfect subject for a good trial, being it has completed most of it's stretch, but I just had to do it.

OK ... For some time now Ive been interested in the limits of cannabis endurance under stress. ... Ive never seen a hermie and I put this down to the genetics I buy and definitely not because I treat plants any better than others.

With this in mind a few weeks ago, having too many different strains to take care of I decided to try a little experiment. I would try and abuse the fuck out of this reputable strain, and see what happens. Nirvana Super Skunk.

This plant has been in a Hempy for 8 weeks. In that time it has only been given 5 feeds of left-over solution at various strengths. ... Due to lack of water most of the leaves burnt or dryed up on the plant but I still would not feed. ... Thats only feeding every 2 weeks.

Results: Amazing smoking and tasting bud covered in crystals. In keeping with the abuse, I never chopped the plant and left to dry AND cure in the bloom room without removing from the hempy. LOL. A few minutes ago I cut the plant and took this photo. I'm smoking a joint now and WOW i am very stoned and satisfied.

new lesson learned today. dont let noone feed your plants for you. fucking helper said my plants were growing too slow. ended up burning the shit out of my plants. only u know your plants. never once did i give my babies the claw. fucking amateur thinks just cuz he overfeeds his plants that my sativas will take 3 times the recommended dosage.

This is an Exodus Cheese, from seeds. I'm not overly impressed with the calyx formation but the weed smokes nice after being in a jar for 2 weeks so far. Since its my personal I'll give it another 4 weeks or so.

I won't be growing this strain again. Although Im being asked for it.

The claw in itself is not the end of the world. Just watch out for when they go brown and drop off.

they did start going brown. the kid works at a hydro shop. brought over his one gallon plants in soil. looked 1/4 the size of the ones i used to have in solo cups. i used to feed my babies 1ml a gallon of dynagrow he put 3.5 ml per gallon then he put maxigrow too.. and instead of one teaspoon per gallon he did 3 tablespoons per gallon. i knew he was wrong but he kept saying he has 7 grows under his belt and im a first timer. my plants look like pro plants compared to him. never once did i have deficiencies or nute burn. and he raised the lights like to the ceiling. like wtf. 600 watts dont reach that far.

Wattsaver, what is the last point during flower where you can trim lower branches and upper branches that block light from mid-range height buds. I'm not to interested in putting energy into the smaller pop-corn below but don't want to cause hermies from trim stress.

I have trimmed pretty hard up to d25, with no ill side effects.

I believe that hermie's are more genetic than environment. I tried to hermie a MW last spring, I messed with the light cycle, night time light leaks, off scale temps, and let her wilt (not to the degree you went Moe) in the end it started to reveg but it wouldn't change sides.

It also shows that its good to let the medium dry between waterings and that even a little wilting isn't the end of the world.

Thanks for sharing the info.
