Atheism isn't as fun as I thought it would be lol. I figured it would set me free, instead, I have all the same morals only without the belief I'll live happily ever after. lol.

But that goes to show all those religious people that we're not bad people because we don't believe what they believe. Oh btw, merry christmas pad. I'm celebrating the biggest hypocritical month of the year! At work I have to listen to christmas music. And some of the lyrics were "it's christmas time again. Santas big day" They should just name it santamas since they don't give a fuck about their god lol. I went way off topic just now. Fuck it, I'M DRUNK!

Yeah, man, that thread got huge! Good discussions, too!

Atheism, for me, is completely freeing, almost like you got released from prison. You're free to do what you want, when you want, how you want, without feeling guilty for it. I recently read a thread on reddit about a religious person in their 20's who felt guilty about enjoying sex. Some sad shit, they didn't know how to enjoy it because of the guilt. Didn't know how to understand sexuality or pleasure.. Atheism has provided me with so many ways to understand the world in a different way, understand why something good is good, and something bad is bad. The 'why's' are the most important thing, not simply the 'do's!'. "Do it because it's right", "Do it because you don't want to end up in Hell!", "Do it because that's what Jesus would do!".. No. I'm left with "Why do it?", OH! Because it's the right thing to fuckin' do! I do shit because I know it's right, I know why it's right because of the consequences of the action. I don't do it out of fear or guilt, I do it because I've analyzed what not doing it could lead to. That is true morality. These fucktard theists who do shit based on their religion are confused individuals, and while they might do the right thing because of it, they're doing the right thing for the wrong reasons.

To me, atheism is a hell of a lot of fun, I can have premarital sex, take imaginary beings names in vain, and sleep great knowing what I did during the day was A OK!

Merry Christmas to you to bro, my tree is up and the lights are on the house. I've read theories about Christmas in America, how it's a ploy from manufacturers to get dummies to BUY BUY BUY! Seems reasonable, if you check the statistics the holiday months are the biggest spending months in the states. I guess it's good for the economy, but whatever, just reminds me of mindless drones waiting in lines for shit they don't need and things they can't afford to make someone else happy based on some bullshit materialistic want they can't live without. Watch Fight Club, that sentiment is depicted perfectly.

I'm buzzing pretty good, Still a bit left to go though so I'll be drunk in 30 :D

Hell yeah man. They're def doing it for all the wrong reasons. But you know what I think? We're naturally born to think on instincts. We have used our nature made brains to think on a much different level than other creatures. But along with all the great thoughts we quote.. Along with all the great philosophies.. Along with everything we've made that has made our lives easier to live in, comes religion. yup, religion is part of our great minds. We came up with it.. It never happened. We came up with that to make new morals that ***(fuck hold on.. lost my train of thought.. Pouring another drink).. ok back.. **** we can obey to make our lives even more easier (at least for religious people). We made it all up.

People can say we got our morals from god. But what I believe is there is no god. There's only humans. We fucking came up with the morals using our brains. We're more intelligent than nature (if that makes sense.. which it kind of doesn't since we ARE nature).

Religion is a form of our thoughts.. Our hopes. Nothing more. So really, religion is just another philosophy of how one guy thought the world should be.. And billions of people agreed. But I like their philosophy. The only thing is, I'm not going to follow it exactly and use some of my own philoso[hy in an attempt to improve it.

I've probably lost you in my drunken rant.. So in short.. Religion did give me my morals that I'm so proud of.. But since there is no such thing as god, I thank humans, and not religion. IDK man, I'm too gone lol.

Dude.. You don't even know. I work at walmart lol. So I know exactly how stupid these people are. Stressing so much over the holiday they claim as "peaceful" just to spend all their money in an attempt to keep the great manufacturers dream of santa alive. Seriously, on a human level, WHAT A BUNCH OF DUMBASSES!!

During my first drink, I was feeling down right low man. I was planning on drinking myself to sleep for the wrong reasons. This compliment has made me want to drink myself to sleep for the right reasons lol.

Also, you have SERIOUSLY given me at least a quarter of the intelligence I have now. No fucking shit coming from me pad. You don't know how much you've helped me grow and helped me keep my mind stable. BTW, I read the book you showed me and showed a couple of people what I've learned from it. Some got pissed and some gained a new view on life. Thanks alot for that.
