And the guns that were "stolen" were not properly stored, even though there was a 20 year old in the house that was a few sandwiches short of a pick nick. Your responsibilities as a gun owner don't end once you've taken ownership of the gun. This incident could have been prevented. I would support stiff penalties for people that are careless with their guns and allow them to get in to the wrong hands.

Educate your self fool, the fact is the greater majority of society is good, so the more good people with guns the less chance there is for bad people to do bad things, ever notice that a majority of these rampage shootings happen in gun free zones, post offices, schools, etc etc, you don't see people going on a rampage at NRA conventions, because they would be dead before they could pull the trigger.

You can not legislate morality and the fact is that criminals and you are going to want to sit down for this they don't obey laws,,, so by restricting guns all you are doing is stopping good law abiding people from possibly defending them selves and others.

MORE guns, whether in the hands of "good" people or not, will not decrease gun deaths. In fact they will increase.

There are roughly 200-300 justifiable homicides in the US every year. There are roughly 800-900 accidental gun deaths in the US every year. Increase the amount of guns, and BOTH of those numbers go up.

So for every armed intruder that a gun owner kills, 3 to 4 people will die from a gun being left out, or a kid playing with dads gun, etc.

But a higher percentage of those deaths will be bad guys instead of good.

i'm ok with that exchange.

If he had a bomb instead it could have been the whole school.
Two days ago i had the Oklahoma City bomb described to me and how to build it. The description took about a minute and the details on how one could be built took about two.

Exactly. If someone is hellbent on destruction there's no laws that'll stop them.

How about replace all classroom doors with bullet proof doors that lock electronicaly? Have to get buzzed in or out, with master control in main office. You could lock a gunman in if needed.

Don't turn schools into jails. It sends the wrong message on many levels. Jmo. cn

And without guns, bombs are what people use.

See Northern Ireland, 1922-1998 (to 2012 if you count the work of criminal IRA splinter groups).

I don't agree and I tell you why.
Lets lock the doors so no one can run away from the bad man, but instead just be a sitting duck. You know those kids knew what was coming for them, they wrote notes saying goodbye, they had time to think about being shot because they could not get away, teachers already locked the doors, but he shot out the locks.

If you are a rampaging maniac hell bent on killing as many as possible, shooting fish in a barrel is much easier than shooting fish in the sea.

Then the other alternative is get rid of the guns

How do you suggest we punish the mother?

If guns are that dangerous and need to be banned then why aren't they piling up the dead corpses of all those who frequent gun shops and gun shows?
