lol with what? 600? 1000? air cooled? my tops stay about 8 inches from my bulb with my aircooled hoods

air cooled.. canopy stays at 74.. maybe I should move it closer?How close is too intense for 1000w? Granted temps stay up to 79F max.. First time with this wattage.
Also reasoning behind two 600w instead of 1x1000w? Isn't 1kw the most efficient lumens/watt?

With fresh bulbs I've never been able to get closer than 12 inches without light bleaching taking hold personally. (With a 1k)
My understanding is that a digital 600whps is the most well rounded ballast in terms of efficiency, intensity, and coverage. It provides intensity not completely unlike a 1000w. (Compare a 400 to a 600 and then a 600 to a 1000. The difference between 4-6 will seem astonishingly greater than that of the 600-1000 comparison) it generates less heat while doing so allowing you to get the lights that much closer. The bulbs cost less to replace in my area. And.for about 6$ more a month I get 2 more ft of coverage and an extra 200 w over the 1000. All the while generating less heat than most 1ks meaning less money spent cooling the room. Win win win IMO.
I personally am now running 2x 600hps and a 400mh in the middle in flower and 250w mh and 600hps in veg. Seeing great results (link in sig)

That's what I thought.. But I'm at 16 inches.. no problems or burn... I wanted to install an oscillating fan but I didn't.. I just have 2 6 inch fans running on the canopy 24/7.
The hood is cold to the touch.
i put mine bout 1ft from canopy but dont control the temps to lower it if ur temps r fine nd its not hurting the plants ne way at all, good! some people putthere light closer wit the right setup, nd 2 600s is always gonna be preferences of who u talk to , i want 2 1000 watters fuck 600s1000w!

So were looking about 1600 lumen difference 600w vs 1000w.. That's like a 25w cfl.. Pretty negligible to me.. Though I understand the benefit of using 600w lights when going a couple kw.. better canopys and stuff

haha but really you also have the added advantage of being able to lower you lights a little closer with a 600.

It makes sense. Ballasts and bulbs are the worst for my wallet though. So I was happy getting 1 set that can grow all my medicine . If I had a lot to burn for 2.5kw or something I'd use 4 600s though, that makes sense to me.
How close is your bulb to full flowering plants with the 600w?

Very nice. I ran a 400w once, and immediately upgraded . Plants are loving the air cooled hood with a closed loop into the attic..
I have intake from attic, into 1000w, into next tent, and into 400w hood(veg), and back into attic... I have 12,000btu AC running in the room with a 70L/d dehumidifier.. LOVE it. These colas are finally starting to chunk out.

Verde. That recirculating loop on your Hood is almost certainly the cause of u not being able.to get closer. I'm assuming its heat related and not bleaching of course

Are those 2 carbon filters? If so I don't think you need the one on your hood ventilation and the other one would probably do better if it were in the tent.

I agree it's overkill but I have zero odor. The fan to my hood is running about 50% speed and the one from the tent runs at about 15%. Two fans at lower speeds makes less noise than one at a higher speed and I only have about a 4 degree rise over ambient in the tent.
