Seems to be a controversial subject, can't find any solid amount of data for either side. anyone have personal experience using these bulbs? are they worth it and where is a good place to get them? thanks!
good info man, gonna pick up a few bulbs and have a go with it. I'm in the same boat as you, a 100 watt bulb is negligible when you run 5-6k of equipment.I use the MH reptile lamp for the UV-b. I start it during veg. I read a paper a few years ago which led me to believe there may be some relationship between UV-b and the fundamental precursor molecules used to eventually make THC. These early molecules start getting made in veg. So given the little heat and I could give a crap about the electricity associated with one lamp, I run the lamp from veg through chop.
I set the timer for 15 minute bursts, centered around high noon, for a total of 2-3 hours a day. I'd be interested in any data that showed more or less time with UV is good. I know that some feel a single 15 minute burst is sufficient, but what's that based on? Anecdotal evidence is good, but this topic lacks solid lab data.
just reptile bulbs.I haven't seen many lamps putting out much UV-b at all. Not much output below 400nm
well those will work but heres the DL with those and why growers don use themI was running one of those light therapy lamps with the cover off, can never remember the name od the company. Daylight solutions or something. Seemed to add frost, at least my buddy seemed to.think so. Lachrel where u at? Lol
