I really like the flood tray idea. Would make things much easier with those numbers. I do wonder if top feeding might be beneficial every week or so to pull oxygen down into the medium. You stay clean ..very smart for first time. I drug mites into my first big grow lol.I have them in flood trays that I flood to the drain holes. With sweet lemon haze and Hawaiian snow I've had a friend grow 60 under 250watt and one 400 watt and he pulled .25 oz off each plant in soil. And I shower and change into scrubs and slippers before I work with the girls. Oh btw I do have a 60 hr a week job but I am a wholesaler so I work on my own schedule. It's just ssupporting me legitimately until harvest. I'm trying to bring in 120 new clones every week so I can harvest once a week from now on. Ill let u know how much I yield off the small solo cup room and how much i yield off the 5 gallon bucket room
Gods gift is supposed to be a heavy yielder. That's all I know about it.My girl bought me a new grow tent for xmas just got here and not set up yet but ohhh 8x8x6.5 now i need another light or two...for time being though i can throw 60 one gallon hempys in there and have room to walk around then! Got 30 seedlings at about 8 nodes right now (maui wowie x blue dream and maui wowie x elephant) plus 6 gods gift clones, 7 sand widow, 7 skunk. Got em from buddy who works for local disp for a batch of ganja butter they are all real small but that gives me veg time which will get my seedlings big enough to top for a clone off each just in case i get something special.
Anyone grown gods gift? Never seen it before.

The top water thing I do every so often. It's just a hassle as hell to top water almost a thousand plants. I'm having trouble right now. One of my clients the one I sell clones to gave me three mothers in soil. I ripped them from the 10 gallon soil pots and transplanted them into perlite. It seems that 2/3 of those mothers seem to be too top heavy and its pull the root mass up ccuz it's tipping over and the top roots aren't big enuff to attach its self upright so I used Togo chopsticks and zip ties as stakes. Imma water with root excelurator tonight for a week to see if it helps root mass on top branch out to be stable.I really like the flood tray idea. Would make things much easier with those numbers. 60 hour weeks ouch. I was working 40-45 when i had a large grow going and i never fucking slept. One small bit of advice from been there done that.....keep your job until you have at least a years worth of expenses saved and stashed...lawyer money too. You never know what can happen and it looks more legit when you start buying toys. I had an op that i ran with one partner that was brining in about 60k every two months after expenses. I grew up poor and that much money was nuts so i went nuts spending. When my grow got ripped for everything including equipment I was glad to have a job since i didnt save much money.
Totally not knocking your skill when i say 10 lbs 10 z is unrealistic on 2400 watts. Its just that would be 2 grams per watt, Something very very few people can claim and not
What the plan after the solo's? keeping them in there or transplanting?Been vegging in hempy solo cups for about a week now, growth is much better then ive ever had in standard pots.. plus a lot less watering... gotta love that.
solo cups can veg for about two weeks to a month just fine. u can top water or use flood trays. perlite and verm is best. but verm i think is only to hold the meidum together better or hold water better than perlite. my 7.5 gallon mothers are way bigger than 10-15 gallon soil pots. always make the hole a bit bigger then enuff so it doesnt have cloggage. for veg its best to transplant them since root growth is what u are after.Been vegging in hempy solo cups for about a week now, growth is much better then ive ever had in standard pots.. plus a lot less watering... gotta love that.
most likely gonna go with the 2.5gallon paint buckets from home depot, chunky perlite at bottom and pure coco above that. What the plan after the solo's? keeping them in there or transplanting?
what substrate/medium you going with?
i didnt think about flooding, that sounds like a great idea now that i think about it, so basicly flood it then remove excess water? what about the coco above the perlite, will that get a proper soak also?solo cups can veg for about two weeks to a month just fine. u can top water or use flood trays. perlite and verm is best. but verm i think is only to hold the meidum together better or hold water better than perlite. my 7.5 gallon mothers are way bigger than 10-15 gallon soil pots. always make the hole a bit bigger then enuff so it doesnt have cloggage. for veg its best to transplant them since root growth is what u are after.
just stick with this thread and u will learn loads. it was funny i learn 99% of my growing weed abliities thru this one thread, and i was having a talk with a seasoned 10 yr grow vet. and he didnt know as much stuff as i had learned from here. and this other grower i know, he has 7 grows under his belt, and his plants look like shit compared to mines and he works at a hydro store too. i learned it all cause of this thread.
but hempy is simple. when they in solo water once a day or flood the tray of cups once every 2-3 days. easiest method ever. even a cave man can do it
Root rot in hempy? What substrate are you using dude? That sucks h202 will help eat them nasty roots.hey mo, them cheese grew like i never seen before, then fucking root rot has kicked in ffs. i think a rapid replant into soil is required. i shall try again with a couple of jack herers i got going.
well from the looks of my 2 week clones with stems the size of a pernament marker... i think the drain hole can be use as a flood hole as well. flood it a bit passed the drain hole and u get the 2 inch rez always filled. i guess i flood and top water which helps. but honestly trust me on this... u can flood the tray full of solo cups and it will work out just as fine. One of the working parts of the Hempy style is top watering to pull oxygen down into your containers. If you go flood its something to think about. You can run a flood without the hempy container.
