I dont think heat will be that big of an issue. If so maybe cut a hole in the back top of the cabinet and add a pc fan for exhaust. Great idea either way! Stay medicated!

I ended up buying a DR120W coughed up some money now a new 2x4 tent, have to save up some money now for a ballast/hood.

Good idea. We'll have very similar setups then. I have a 2x4x5 for veg and a 4'9"x4'9"x6'7" for flowering. Im working on piecing the final parts together and dotting i's crossing t's blah blah ....ya know. Do you plan on trying the S.O.G. technique?

I have a plant limit so in the near future I'll probably SCROG instead of SOG hehehe. I have a bunch of seeds from this past attitudes xmas promo so I will be starting with beans for a while but contemplating having a mother / clone setup in the future.

I just added the big tent with ths 600w HPS air cooled hood. Been running the other for a while with 2 plants in FF soil. I will have 250w of CFLs Blue spectrum (6500k) for veg. Possibly pcking up some T5s but idk if thats any different or better than 6500k CFLs. I want to get a SOG going with my DWC when I make the switch in a week.

Hello RIUers!

Well as I commented before I purchased a smaller 2x4 DR120W tent that I will be vegging out of. I just started germinating 6 seeds yesterday night 1/10/2013, as of right now they are inside a germ station under four 23w 5000k 1600 Lumen CFL's. I have to take a decision on what lighting would be BEST for them. I don't want to say "money is not an issue" because as of right now I am pretty broke but I would like to do it right the first time around. I currently have a fairly new 400w Optilume MH bulb so I thought go all out and buy a 400w Lumatek digital ballast and a air-cooled hood. Is this a complete over kill?


The new batch "hopefully" consists of:

Dinafem seeds Kush'N'Cheese
Feminized Cannabis seeds - 03 seeds

TH seeds Critical HOG
FEMINIZED Cannabis seeds - 01 seed

Positronic seeds Cum Laude
FEMINIZED Cannabis seeds - 01 seed

Positronics seeds Jack Diesel
FEMINIZED Cannabis seeds - 01 seed

They are doing alright as of right now I'm not real happy with the Kosher's yield of course I don't have any reference what so ever but comparing it with the only og-kush that I have its night and day. I also can't get rid of "the claw" in one of the koshers I guess I'll flush him again in the next watering but its still doing alright .

I just stuck the cages in the soil. I'm trying to figure out how to make "mini scrogs" cutting the tomato cage and putting some type of screen on the second "ring". Nothing too big like a 2x2 maybe.

Thanks a lot! Yeah I'm real stoked with Cannalope, way to go freebies haha. And yeah, the OG-Kush is from RP. Right now I'm germinating some Cataract Kush with some other ladies real excited with that.

Hello Rollitup'ers!

I have a few questions with my vegging tent! Since I purchased the T5 setup I just can't get my temperature low! I don't even think its a "distance" issue, I don't have any type of exhaust just have the "flaps" open with an oscillating fan and the temps are in the mid to high 80's I've just been keeping the tent OPEN. So the question is...

Looking at my setup what would be the best option to keep the temperature's down?

I also have a smaller 4" vortex fan that I'm using as an intake for the flowering tent. Should I just snag the vortex from the flowering tent? How important is having an intake fan? Can I go by with just passive intake? AHHH!!!!!

Well talking about the ladies, I've really fucked up with germination this time. I just haven't been paying attention most of my x-mas promo freebies have died. I germinated the same way I did last time ( peat pots, directly in soil and keep inside germ station ) the only thing I have changed from last grow is the soil from FFOF to Roots organic. Has anybody else had problems with Roots Organic when germinating? After killing most of the freebies I decided to germ "the paper towel way" and gut 100% success rate! To sum up the garden as of right now consists of:

Cataract Kush - Reserva Privada	5
Kush'n'Cheese - Dinafem seeds	2
Gigabud - G13 seeds "Freebie"	1

Definitely get the exhaust going in the tent, that is the best option. The 4" will do just fine, I use a cheap duct booster in my veg box and it keeps relatively cool, also with t5's. My tent is cooled by passive air intake/ambient room temps.

Has anybody else had problems with Roots Organic when germinating?

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Last time I germed out of Roots Organic - original 5 for 5 hatched, 3 of them broke ground in 3 days, the other one was a straggler and I didn't think it was going to hatch so I stuck another seed in there, that seed hatched in 3 days, then a week later there was another baby growing under the 1 week old sprout. So they all hatched, just one of them took longer than I thought it would, the late hatchling turned out to be a male anyways.
