Azamax contains azadirachtin. Azadirachtin is a secondary compound found in neem seeds. (not sure if it is in the oil but it is from the neem seed which is where neem oil is produced)


Always refer to the MSDS when using chemicals. The MSDS will also tell you if there are any carcinogenics in the product too!
(I think it should be required by law - misuse may cause more problems if the product is used incorrectly)

What I learned from using Azamax over the years as a hydro grower is that most growers especially soil & organic growers will use neem to prevent pests and growers who dont use neem end up using Azamax to battle pests lol...You will always here organic gardeners praising neem, if you have grown organic before then you know how annoying pests can be.. Thats just my two cents because when I was growing hydro it was all about Azamax to help rid of mites or thrips , now that I mess with organics its all about neem oil and preventing pests...

Neem oil here too...

Also use Organicide. Best outdoor product IMO.
Not good for getting on or near medium but for foliage stray works wonders! (microorganism killer - use in veg only)

I have had Spider Mites and Powdery Mildew. Now i just use poreventative maintenance and get nothing.

I spray Azamax as my preventative though, not neem. Don't ask me why, we just switched to Azamax and never looked back. We spray every 14 days up to week 3-4 of flower.

For PM prevention we just keep our rh in the 20-40% range and don't go over it. We also dip our clones in Immunox (mild eagle 20) early on.

Azamax works it's just neem is cheaper and has the full spectrum of the pest fighting goods in it. Something like over 200 active ingredients in neem or something like that. Whatever works for you please continue using that, it's just I'm frugal when it comes to hydro store grow products cause they are marketed towards the MJ community. If we treat cannabis more like a food crop we will save lots of $$$. I have been able to source 95% of my of my material besides equipment at grocery stores, heath food stores, brewer supply, and feed stores. I also grow organic soil which allows me that flexibility.

Neem is cheaper... If you ever turn to organics shit gets a lot cheaper. Dont get me wrong Azamax is really good stuff I still use it because I still have some left over once that finishes up its gonna be neem oil just based on the price tag.

azamax works cuz neem works. U though neem meal was cheap... Neem cake is even cheaper and can be incorporated in a top dress, or as a tea... it will handle any fungus gnat problems in the same stroke.

I got my meal and oil sourced from India and literally have enough to last for years (it was like 25-30 for everything if I remember correctly) , the other good cheap stuff is the dynagro neem.

Good info been using neem cake or meal as well. Cake is a lot cheaper for sure. You can also make neem spray with cake for those who don't know. That's awesome you are like me and don't fuck around go straight to the source. Cool!

I would not use azamax unless you have an infestation in flower at all. It stays in you soil and plant for 6-8weeks. Ladybugs or organic compounds Just my 2 pennies.

Azadirachtin (the component in neem seed oil used in Azamax) appears to be very safe stuff. The only problem with it is reversible infertility, found (so far) only in male mice. The precise mechanism is not known, and it does not seem to relate to sperm health or loss of libido.

i've never used neem. never needed it. i have read about it forever though and would go with it if required.

i haven't seen anything but a couple gnats on sticky traps. nothing on top of the leaves, nothing under the leaves (unless there are microscopic eggs). i gave the soil a good spray a few days ago and put about another 2 inches of soil on top . the soil settled so they needed it anyway.

i think i won.

i get my soil from a couple different stores. even though i'm legal, i never go to the same store twice in a row. lol.

A&P nurserys got hip and started carring fox farm products and large bags of perlite. i'll buy a couple bags from the hydro store if i have to pick something else up. i never had anything but gnats before. nada.

i guess i've been lucky.

Yeah dude if you grow from seed everytime your bug problems wont exist! Its when you bring clones in that you take that chance of getting pests. And here in AZ there aren't any clone nurseries. I been to a couple good ones in Cali that wear gloves and lab coats when they handle clones and what not.. Gnats dont really destroy crop unless you get a major outbreak gnats are more of a nuisance.. Usually nematodes and sticky traps take care of them in the past I also would do a drench using a product called "gnatrol" I think its the powder version of those mosquito dunks.
