ok man 2 things First Whodat is completely right with regards to the super soil. You have mentioned many times in this thread that you are very concerned with quality, yet then you said that your soil is good enough. There is a reason that its called super soil, its better for your plants, and will help to achieve maximum yield and quality.

Now secondly I was talking about a soil growing technique with you, the air basket thing, and then you respond to me about using air stones in your water res. Thats great, but then when you water your plants the water is just chilling down in the root zone and the O2 gets used well before the next watering. This just makes that a constant supply of O2, which allows the plant to use the water more efficiently that is there.

Well Id rather drink a nice glass of bordeaux over a glass of yellow tail. There is a difference in quality and that might cost you a little more

Good reply haha.
Next grow I'm going to run a light doing your method.
you better still be around RIU when I fuck it up so I can get advice.
EDIT: man now I want to go organic...

No I'm not. I mean I was sort of joking but really I'm dead serious.
What you posted in the picture that seems like simple topping to me?

All that is done in fimming is cutting 80-90% of the lead growth shoot. What I think u r referring to is pinching the lead growth, topping is way different.

So how is topping way differant they are both the same idea.

topping = remove the whole lead growth
fimming = remove 80-90% of the lead growth

my soil produces top shelf buds but I'm always into learning how to take it to the next level as you see in my reply to whodat. I've have been constantly debating in my head going completely organic I've just been to scared to change techniques haha.

i get what your saying about the sponge. With perlite and oxygenated water isn't that more then enough? I mean the amount of perlite I use is enough to make the soil dry after 2-3 days. Sometimes 1. If there is more oxygen then is being used isn't it just overkill? Or is the sponges job to add oxygen and also dry the soil faster?

I don't consider topping just removing the lead growth. I consider removing the lead growth pinching. I consider topping removing at least 3-4 branching nodes counting from the top down.

If you do a FIM just right then you get basically what happens when you top twice. Most of the time you just top it though.

Geez I need to pull my head out of my ass, they are techniques i already know just with different names.

Just close your eyes and pinch. I think it's dumb but I mean go for it. I'm really unclear how it is any different than topping you just do it WAY sooner...

Ok so what's on the agenda next?

Well right now the seeds are sprouted and 2 have popped roots out of the bottom.
Tomorrow im going to start mixing my soil. Wasn't able to make it down to the hydrostore today.
Tomorrow after i mix the soil ill be transplanting the seedlings into red cups and getting all my clone domes ready.

Ill also take pictures of my room and setup so you guys can talk shit;)

Picked up a 45 gallon barrel trash can yesterday for a new rez:)
Wasnt able to go get my can filter and fan from the guy on craigslist today though... bummer...

I do my red cups a little differently then most people.

Since I have 3 1000 watt lights, im going to be doing a little experimentation with this grow.
Im going to see if tossing 18 clones, right into flowering, 2-4 days after rooting and transplanting into soil is better then
running 8-10 clones that were vegged and LST'd for 3-4 weeks.
The 18 will go in first and one month later the 8-10 LST'd plants.

Which one you think will do better?

I think a 2 gallon pot is just fine for a plant with about a week of veg. I'd be worried about light coverage, but u know your room better than me.

Light coverage would be ok i got some big ass hoodies:)

You made me think though, and Im probably going to use 2 gallon pots for the 16.
Taking your word for it, plus the extra space would be nice to move around in;)
