Just a repost seein how this thread got a lil off topic lolPersonaly i belive Cali in paticular has the best genetics in the world but they also have had the most time to refine and pheno hunt these strains (as far as the US is concerned)... Seems to me Amsterdam just whats to get ahold of some US genetics and work with them... Spain at least has its own identity and produce some fire... I think if it was just a sativa compatition it would be a close race with spain but that skywalker (sativa og) is that eww wee... Anyhow there is gonna be a bias no matter because most the people u r gonna get a responce from are americans... With that said no one is fuckin with the Cali Kush IMO
even still spain is doing a better job with the AMERICAN strains. dinachem and ogk from dinafem for example.Just a repost seein how this thread got a lil off topic lol
Not true about American breeders at all. Apparently you don't know any breeders in Oregon, Colorado, or even Indiana. And I am sure you don't know the breeders I know in the far Eastern part of Tennessee and and Western North Carolina. They have put out stabilized fire in the those parts that will never see a mass market like Attitude or Cannazon because they are too humble to put their names out there.I just think Spanish breeder pay a bit more attention to detail and refine things much better... Americans are always ready to be to the next superstar where as Spain will work with a superstar till its a legand
my comment was from a gerealized stand point which is the best you can do without throwing out exept except except... i know growers esp from the oregon area they have great and stable genetics but as a whole i still stand by my statement and even in your post u stake the same claim... im not sayin they are not out there in the states im saying for the most part so i should have stated my opinion a little better and i apologize to any TRUE breeders i may have offended but looking at the states as a whole i stil believe what i said to be trueNot true about American breeders at all. It could be that all you know about American breeders is from what you read online or in a magazine about "the next big thing" coming out of California. I stopped posting here to settle personal issues with myself, but reading your comment made me temporarily break that commitment.
Unless you are well-traveled and know a lot of small time, but excellent breeders in the U.S., please don't lump most of them in the same category as the pollen chuckers you read about in High Times that pay their way to the top of the Cannabis Cup every year. A cup which is a joke in and of itself.
Spanish breeders are great, but they only refine great strains that come from the U.S. and other various countries. Heck, I read a lady's comment on this site a long time ago- her user name is lahadaextranjera and she said: "I'm in Spain and we know all about Critical as IT'S OURS".
I thought that was pretty arrogant considering that if it wasn't for Shantibaba, Spain wouldn't even have Critical+.
There is a difference between refining strains and CREATING great strains. The former is lazy, as all the hard work of searching and finding landraces, mixing them and picking out phenos has been done.
And just for the record, you say they make legends, but my experience smoking strains from Spain - Dinafem and Eva Seeds especially- is that the end product, while vigorous and more stable than the parents, is also a lot weaker in potency than the original clone they acquired from the original great breeders. But I give Eva Seeds credit, as they have original strains.
God bless
I actually like Dinafem, but I consider them a "solid" seed company, with "solid" strains. If you are looking for straight out fire, dank, Dinafem isnt necessarily the place to go.Not true about American breeders at all. Are you saying Canada was the only country to import and eventually grow herb? You guys have left out a major contributor here
Canada
Canada used to import all of its MJ from say Jamaica or Columbia back in the 70s-80s and even from Mexico (schwagg). The risk far out weighed the rewards so Canadians started growing there own, now you NEVER hear of any imported stuff. Why? Because Canada has the best MJ around and IMHO created most of those strains with seeds they brought back from all the great landrace strains (Jamaica, Columbia, Southeast Asia). Where do you guys think most of the premo came from in US before Cali got known for great genetics and now that Washington and Colorado are legal its still going down there more then it gets distributed across Canada itself.
