Reminds me alot of Superthirve.

Product Description

Classic and very popular vitamin and hormone mix. Use it for everything to reduce transplant shock to reviving dead plants. Has been proven effective time and again for decades.

I'd do the 1/2 dose method just in case.

cool, sounds good. Thanks!

I wouldn't worry about over feeding with 0-0-1, but then again.. I might be biting my own tongue haha. I tried Super Thrive back in 07 and I liked it a lot during veg I remember. I haven't used it since then.. but you're definitely on the right track. You have hydro stores all around you I'm assuming since you're from SoCal?

yea, and i have one that is like 2 min drive from my house which is where i have been getting my soil and grow bags, they have pretty good prices on stuff. When i get some money that is where i will be going to blow it all haha. I want to get a 8 bulb t5 there but its like $220. I can get a hps and mh 400 for that price >_<

...Someone's gonna blow their tax refund at the hydro shop :D
The bag deals were good, but not on light.

haha you know it.

Yea that price on the light seems like a ripp off, although i just realized that price includes 8 bulbs, veg or bloom or mixed. maybe that is why it is so much

yea ill def end up getting one eventually, ill prob only have enough money to get a light setup at first though so i think i want to go for the mh/hps. hmm i wonder what puts out more lumens, a 8 bulb t5 or a 400w hps/mh

Not sure. I would guess the 400 HPS. If you're debating between the 2, and heat issues aren't a problem, go with the HPS for sure so that it will be able to penetrate deeper. Flouro's deplete their lumens quickly the further away they are Very Fast. With my dual 150's and 4 big ass CFL's I'm in the neighborhood of 45k lumens. And I'm able to keep the CFL's 2 inches away from fan leaves, and the 150's are 6in away. I'm able to keep them all that close cause heat isn't an issue for me. I keep my tent door open during 12 on with a large stand up oscilating fan keeping it between 66'F-80'F(depending on temp of my room tent is in). Heat might be your weak point.

well if my research is correct

HPS
150w 16,000lm
250w 28,500lm
400w 50,000lm
600w 90,000lm
1000w 140,000lm
MH
250w 28,000lm
400w 39,000lm
600w 60,000lm
1000w 110,000lm

T5 floro 5k per bulb (8 bulb = 40,000lm)

well with those numbers the t5 is out i think, id have to use some big cfl bulbs as supplement i think to get near the other set ups

so i can either go

150W 16,000lm
150W 16.000lm
400W 50,000lm
82,000lm all together(700ws)

for a cost of around $180-$200

or

600w
90,000lm all together (600ws)

for a cost of $190

and heat would def be my biggest issue here in the summer since i dont have an ac, i was thinking i might get a small portable swamp cooler that i would just be able to put inside my grow tent maybe

nice thing about the 400w, dual 150s is since the 400 is switchable i could put a mh bulb in it and have the 2 150s running hps for the wider spectrum

so
400w MH 39,000lm
150w HPS 16,000lm
150w HPS 16,000lm

so
71,000 lms mixed spectrum

vs

90,000lm over just hps spectrum

is the 19k lm loss worth the wider light spectrum

Forget my 150's, grab an air cooled hood 600w HPS, and get the inline fan/ducting some other time. Running 1 air cooled light will save you SO much headache. You can even supplement the 600 with some CFL's. My buddy uses 8-6500k(blue) spectrum CFL's with his 1K HPS for super dual spectrum. He gets GOOD results. Straight fire everytime.

He uses regular sized 23w 6500k spectrum... But 8 of them + a 1k watt HPS in a big tent with Great results.
Mine are the 42w size and I have 4.

oh nice, i wouldnt mind spending the extra 40 to pick up 8 23ws, see if its worth it. i wonder how much extra heat it would cause

Metal Halides are for security lights not growing.

I decided along time ago that I couldnt really pull off an indoor for very long so the way to go for outdoors/me, is to get a good starter light and let mother nature take care of the hard work. (*producing 1000's of lumens*)
Here's what I'll b using this year to start the girls out:
