Came across this video today and wanted to pass it on. Anyone using purple maxx, gravity, snow storm ultra, and other plant growth regulators need to throw it out NOW!!!

Woah, don't throw out all products containing PGRs, just the bad PGRs, like paclobutrazol and alar.

Triacontanol is a perfectly safe PGR and is even found in natural organic amendments, like alfalfa.

Which products can you find paclobutrazol in right now?

  • Bushload by General Hydroponics
  • Gravity by Emerald Triangle
  • Flower Dragon by Grow Envy
  • Phosphoload by Dutch Master

I've tried to find a definitive list, but haven't yet. I know that most Emerald Triangle (Humbolts own) are bad. In Colorado they have pulled Gravity and I believe they are no longer making it.

Many pages back I posted a link to a list of products that were pulled from the shelves in Oregon, some for growth regulators, most were because they didn't have proper testing or disclosure of ingredients.

I broke down my coco bucket the other day, I had to see if what jella said about his roots not hitting the bottom of the bucket using coco.
Well I have to say he is correct. The roots locked in the top inch of the perlite, and half of that was above the hole. I didn't see any sign of roots in the bottom inch of the perlite.

Watt, I swear i didn't see your post till after I took these pictures ten minutes ago and logged on...we are synched bro.....I was just cleaning out my mapito buckets and took pictures of the "plugs" and remembered what I posted about the perlite "root stop" I was experiencing with coco. Since the mapito was the same medium all the way down I had no division in root structure at the res level. As a matter of fact they look prolific there. But I do remember my last coco grow with C99 where I did have roots in the perlite res, but not as much as the upper layer of coco. Makes you wonder if you had coco all the way down to the bottom minus the perlite.

Moe what's your timer set for your GDP clones in your aerocloner? Are your cuttings between 6-8" cots? Btw what flowering week are you in in your current gdp's?

Hey Newwi, you were the one who told me not to use perlite in the bottom...and thanks for that advice...I remember clearly, although months ago. Looking at this root zone it's hard to believe I could prep it again. I'm sure some Cannazyme for a few treatments would do the trick. However, I have faith in Chaka here who has relayed his experience with successive medium reuses and the "induced" variability's he noted. As a matter of fact, I'm running a different medium next grow....Grodan rockwool grow-chunks only. I'm tearing apart the mapito now to see how much root penetration there was in the PU foam chunks. I'm thinking it doesn't need to be there. The natural air spaces that surround the irregular mate-ups of a cubed medium should be enough. Moebius and Dank also contest the source of the foam and it's possible contaminants based on the grade from which it was selected. I have to agree there too...my mapito came in an unmarked white bag with no labels or anything.

Just a few bud shots of the "wicked" Pineapple Express.....taking a break from it for a few days so I can complete some projects at work...a few tokes of Trinity Kush won't impair me the day after.

Haha... Every time i check out the hydro section, hempy thread is on top :)
Moe should be swelling with pride! It's hard to call him a "Hempy Brother" anymore....his creation here on RIU is magical, and only draws those in search of that magic.

Dinafem Tin is perfect for germination, Yesterday I filled with water and 3 seeds, all fell to the bottom, Drained the water off and replaced with wet paper towel and back into the dark. This morning they were all splitting, Tomorrow I hope to get them in medium...100_1953.jpg

Jela10, that is the most beautiful nug I've ever seen. The sheer depth, size, and density is ever present. It saddens me to know that I wont be able to pop this bean till next fall, but I am looking forward to being graced with its fruity aroma blessing me in the morning with coffee. Interesting that the effects linger into the next day. I have a rule where I cannot smoke sativas past 8:00 p.m. Evenings are for indicas!

Also, I have a wicked recipe for making brownies. Following the K.I.S.S rule for tasty brownies that have absolitely ZERO taste. Be careful, I use 5g for my batch and a decent size brownie will send you to the moon!

Moebius, that's quite a line up you have for a GDP army! I notice that you don't trim any of the leaves down on your clones. Makes me wonder why they keep telling you in all the videos how important it is to ensure the larger fans are trimmed so the leaves don't transpire faster. (For the inquiring minds that wanna know.. like myself... "Why trim cut fan leaves") Never the less, you've giving me an experiment to try. I would think it would be a result of your short-to-no veg time and the plants needing all their stored energy.

They look beautiful though! I have a feeling I'm going to be running some Ken's GDP next run with the PE. Is it me or does anyone else anticipate their next grow before their current is even started?

I worked on this today...I was looking for a way to draw in air from the bottom of a cabinet....I had about 3 inches of space to use, so I put together a fan and 2 shrouds, again recycled from Computer parts, the idea is to be able to aim the air instead of just putting in a fan...so one side points down and under the shelf, the other side where the air exhausts is another shroud pointed into the grow space...100_1956.jpg I attached a 12 volt adapter and another shroud and fan setup on one power and plugged her in, worked perfect, both drew in under the shelf and remain unseen and unheard, the cord is long enough these coud be hung too, and I might use some of the 2 inches I have at the top for a similar intake.

All I can tell you is I pull the main stem and most of the root ball out of the medium, break it up and re-pot a new plant ready for flowering immediately. This is done 9-16 times every 2 weeks and I have never had problems with it. I also use the coco version and have no experience with the PU version but it sounds nasty.
