First grow attempt...

First time growing. Going to document it all here. I am using straight FFOF and just have 3 bag seeds to work with. The first two broke soil on 2/13/13 and the third on the next day. They are in a 3'x2'x5' tent and are currently under 8 23w 5k cfls. I have a 400w HID on its way here and will be installed soon. Any comments or input are more than welcomed.

Just have a 120mm computer fan blowing across them. I have a 4" inline exhaust fan on the way. I have been looking for a small desk fan to blow around in the tent. But everywhere I go they are "seasonal" so not instock currently.

Well just as long as you have some airflow. Air circulation is key and it also helps thicken up the stems to hold up bigger colas.

Somebody just picked up a 6" at Wal Mart today.
If that doesn't work for you, Camping world has 6" desk fans.

Unless the area you are growing in is very small and sealed, you should be fine without a fan for a while.

good start and nice name relax....I suggest you tweak your ffof when you upsize the pot to this mix - 2 gals. FFOF / 1/2 gal. Perlite / 1 oz. domalite lime per gal. soil per batch. will help in drainage and the lime for ph. balance. watching if needed.

Anyone else noticed how much more air is moved, and how much quieter, if you remove the front grill to these smaller fans?

Mine was useless until I did this...

I think it's relevant to them all.
If I wanted to design a fan that was crap...I'd put a grill in front of it ;)

I can only think of one member (ex-member) here who might have needed it, but the rest of us are sensible enough not to put our fingers in...or worse! ;)

I'd have loved to push his face into a de-grilled fan, one push for each bit of bad advice he spouted would be fair.

Just left Walmart at 3 am for supplies. The heaters are gone..or at least on their way out. And they have the aisle cleared, some AC units starting to fill it in, and some box fans. No little oscilating clip fans yet, or the thin tall towers. I need a fan too, But Im sick of ordering shit off Amazon. I want some instant gratification. Another couple days anywhere but the north and walmart should have a shit ton of fans in.

Thanks. I noticed target was clearing out of heater when I checked. I feel the same way. Like a package a day for the past week.
