Thanks for the advice I'll have to looking into getting some soon. Speaking of switching the soil, how long will they last in say 2.9qt planters pots

thats about a gallon i think? so maybe 3 weeks. With a 400 watter in flower Id use 2 or 3 gallons pots depending on veg length and how many you want to grow at a time. Id cram as many plants as possible in the space to max the light your using anyway. ive used 4 to 10 plants in that area size. I like multi strains at a time for variety. Id look at cloning them with the tops as well as training them for even canopy and higher yield. Did you get a mh bulb for your 400 watter? Id use that asap.

Ya i have a MH on the way with it! I cant wait to see how they are going to react, hoping for an explosion of growth. Or should I not get my hopes up that much? I will upload some pictures tonight to show how they are doing.

today, at walmart,small personal clip on fans were $9.99, their fans are slowly coming out.

The 2 with the fatter leaves broke ground one day before the lanky looking one. So this puts the lanky one at day 8 technically. I have a 4" inline fan now sucking 190cfm out and a 6" fan blowing in through the side vent/intake and across all three and I am using the comp fan to just get some more coverage from the other side. My temps are hovering around 78-79, but have only had the fan going for a few hours. Is this something I should be concerned with? Also this thermometer I just picked up a while back for like $5. Should I invest a little more into a decent one? I know for sure the humidity is off, but I don't know how much I can trust the temp.

i just started and mine are an inch above soil but on has a little bit of soil dusted on the leaves... its not tht easy to just brush it off does it even matter?

It is just a china made one I purchased off ebay. Some of the stitching is poor quality but its what I could afford at the time

make sure the leaves dont have dirt on them. Id clean them if its dirt. If the dirt had guano or other nut in it they will burn. Just shake or run some water on em with your hand with care. With ffof dont use any nuts till week 3 as the dirt is on the nut hot side. IF you do they could go south real quick. newbes burn em more then not bc they are too much in a hurry. Be carefull to move slow on nuts. Next get the watering down and so the pots are light before watering. Otherwise knats will come along with other plant issues. Good so far...

i would feed in another week or two. they look very good, and fox farms comes with a lot of soil nutrients already.

still whats up with fox farms? whats the base in the soil mix, woodchips? what the hell is in there soil? how much peat moss do they use? can you read me the ingredients off the bag please?

The design of many grills is such as to try to form a venturi to maximize the amount of air moved by speeding it up on exit. You sacrifice that by removing it but can always just go to a bigger fan.

Also, the dirtier the grills become with lint, pet hair, grime etc the noisier and less efficient they become. Clean them regularly.

Along with cleaning the grill clean the blades as dust build up can lower the amount of air moved. And does anyone have suggestions on a reasonable thermometer/hygrometer that could be bought locally? Because the one I have is failing the RH salt test its only reading 55%

So they are now on day 12 and the 2 additional germinating seeds have popped. I just installed my HID ballast and am a bit worried about temps. The MH bulb is ~12" from the top of the plants. I am really worried about getting the temps down. before installing the HID, CFLs had me at about 78-79 degrees and the temp so far is 83 with the HID and its only been on for maybe 20 min.
