We have mostly common greys around here. Every so often youll get a few reds. Seems to me the reds tend to have a little more meat on em ( not alot it is still a squirrel after all) bit havnt noticed a difference in taste from one squirrel to the next. Cant really compare it to much except maybe gamey rabbit. Best in a stew in my opinion.

Hmmmmm now you got me thinking....Im going to look into it here in my area...I want to see what species we have running around here.....we have these big grey bushy tail suckers that like hanging around the wood pile.....last year they wiped out my apple tree...It was loaded with big reds...I was just waiting a bit longer and then one day my son came in the house and asked...hey dad...when did you pick all the apples???? WHAT....what you talking bout boy....went out there and they did not leave one apple...not a one...LOL and I had been seeing them on the tree munching out but figured....how much damage can a couple of squirrles do....Ha....they answered that question pretty quick!!

Yeah they will destroy some shit if you let em. Friend of mine lost a whole pear tree one year. I shoot em right out of my back yard with a high powered pellet rifle. They like to try and steal my corn.

Well it's nice to know that you take the time to trap correctly, and that nothing goes to waste, as for the Chinese their are a rare breed they kill endangered species for small bits of them because they believe its medicine. I know it's a way of life for you and please don't think I'm knocking that I suppose I'm just ignorant to your way of life when I just get my meat from the supermarket.

hell no sister.Just no.btw,I shop at the stores all the time;-)

I grew up in a household that was against guns and I was never taken hunting, but we did fish. A lot of my friends hunt for pheasant and duck but I want to hunt for deer and wild pigs. It seems like a great way to further my love of the outdoors and we all got to eat anyways.

Also, I recently started raising rabbits (for meat) and know a lot of people who think it is cruel or gross. I feel that I would like to know what my animals have been fed and that we were treated humanely and with respect through out there life and especially during harvest.

I can't wait for spring gobbler season, favorite thing to hunt is turkey, so smart and wily at times lol. Not to mention in late season there's a chance you can find morrel mushrooms

Morels are like gold when you find a patch !!! I love em!

never have eaten domestic rabbit. But have eaten plenty of Snow shoe's(big bunnies) . It's been a couple years but me and buddies used to shoot 20-50 a day sometimes! Fun hunting and GOOD EATING!!

I have only seen morels in my area twice...once because another mushroom hunter was kind enough to show me a patch he knew of and the other I stumbled upon them by accident...one more step and I would have steped on them...quite small....but I can boast that we do get the king bolete and chanterelle out this way along with other prized edibles.....of course..I have not seen any in three years now.....it has not rained....very dry!

I have looked and looked for morels even made a trip to our lease in Illinois just for morels! I have only found my own twice, both times in my own yard!!! The second time I had em in my yard,I was out with my dog in a Tuxedo getting ready to leave for MY wedding! Only took me 20 min to fill a grocery bag half full!!! Wedding or not,I wasn't leaving them!!
