I disagree. Corporations predate socialist thought by a good bit. Also, corporations, as wealth-harvesting schemes, are profoundly unsocialist. Consider the phosphorus match firms of the early 19th century and the working conditions found therein, not to mention the profit-sharing scheme. Also, how would a free market stymie corporations and cartelization in general? Such entities thrive when there is nobody to prune them back.
