you know bucky, some people DO work longer shifts than 8 hours.
on the santamargarita fire me and my crew pulled a 26 hour shift before we got any relief.
on the butterfeild fire we worked 2 days straight without a break, and i took 2 airdrops to the face.
in my 20's i worked 2 full time jobs back to back, and did 16 hour days regularly, year in and year out.
on a farm at harvest time we often start before the sun comes up and dont hit the sack till it's well past sundown for weeks on end.
YOU may not have the fortitude for such labour but others do.
