What is the single greatest military weapon ever created?

Is why I'd use F-16C to F/A-22s for escort, due to the thrust to weight ratio and possible payload configurations compared to the F-15. That said.. the B-2 doesn't stand any chance whatsoever against a tactical fighter-type role like the F-14, 15, 16, or 22... definitely agree on that - the armament differences are way too vast.

Very very minimal selection in terms of air-to-air...

Given what I'm seeing, and the counts.. assuming 50% miss and no guns used with direct hit on a B-2.. One F-22 should still be able to drop more than a few B-2s.. stealth wouldn't make a difference at that point as the same radar signature is capable of being seen to each other for both types.

I doubt an F-22's AN/APG-77 set could acquire a B-2 without cheats, such as a vector from a much stronger radar (which the B-2 was specifically designed to foil). A big part of the B-2's stealth is tactical as well as technical. The pilots fly at night (minimizing optical detection chances) and avoid hotspots. The F-22 or any other interceptor is holding the short end of the "gotta find me to hurt me" stick.
I will also wager that a B-2 has some pretty fancy active ECM against missile lock; we just never see them used. cn

I will have to try a sling stick. You make it sound very Ronco Pocket Trebuchet. ;) cn
You can have it wrapped around the top of your walking stick ready for some hanbo or for slinging. Or....just walking. I was partial to the 3/4 ounce lead sinker for the wrist rocket slingshot.

Sling a handful of those and...SQUIRREL~!

I will reiterate, the mind is the greatest weapon of all. Without it, none of these weapons would exist. Has anyone ever read a version of "Unconventional Warfare Devices and Tactics"? I've read a surplus copy and let me tell you, the mind is an amazing weapon.

EXCELLENT idea for my son's new wrist rocket! He's been sporting the steel shot and some .36 cal lead balls for blackpowder lol. Those .36's put a hole through a weak board in the fence but the heavy splitshots are a GREAT idea!

Oh man that 3/4z sinker will big dent a stop sign at 50 ft. It's a man stopper and I had it relieved of my possession by the Law. It was the beginning of Fright Night of the Cambodian Bombing Riot, in Gainesville Fl.

The outlying Counties were sending cops and they were bringing the axe handles. We had been at it for a day and half already....fighting the Democrats. Or was that Nixon? FDR?

Just as well, as I said, Fright Night and it was ugly. More a Police riot, really. But, we held a major intersection, US 441 and University for about 40 hrs with barricades.

And. hair down to my ass and probably barefooted, I boldly turned in my receipt and got it back my Arms, a few days later. Ah, the good ole days.

i use .38 wadcutters. basically just a straight sided lead cylinder a little over 1/3 of an inch across. they tip the scales at about 3/4 ounce and are dirt cheap. like $12 for 100. they fuck shit up and they hum on the way to the target when you shoot em just right like a kid's bull roarer.

Aren't the F22s grounded every other month for one issue or another? The F22 is the most over-priced project ever. I'd choose the original B2 stealth as a 'greatest' aircraft overall over the F22 any day.

I'd say the cannon is the most important. Maybe the M1 rifle or the original Gatling gun or M2 Browning .50 machine gun.

Air-craft carrier?

I will finally pick the P51D Mustang.
You're thinking of the F35, otherwise known as the JST.

The f22 is a beast.

The F22 has a smaller radar cross section than a b2. Both are based upon the same stealth technology, both are optimized, just that the b2 is much larger.

I thought we were talking about 'greatest' weapons? As in historical. The only history the F22 has is over-budgeting, safety concerns, performance issues and a healthy group of pilots that actually fly it that say it's a piece of shit.

The B2 is historical, it has seen actual action in combat, much like the P51D in a different sense.

I'm fairly certain the only reason you chose the F22 is because it is the newest and most expensive fighter jet, not that it's the greatest because it has not been tested in combat.

Here is a real 'greatest'

LOL No. I know what the F35 and F22 are. The F22 is a tad better, but still many issues. Just ask the pilots that fly them and those that won't.

The f117 has seen combat, never ever been shot down, and is the pioneer to stealth technology...

How could the b2 be considered more important?

And obviously you don't know the f22 or f35, because the f22 is years before the f35, which is the newest fighter. Furthermore, all pilots, given the choice of aircraft, would choose the f22 for a 1v1 fight. It is superior to any other fighter we have, even the f35. The only reason for the f35 is that the f22 is too expensive, and single platform. Whereas, the f35 is 1/3rd the price, and multi-platform, encompassing every branch that uses jets

p51s are great planes though, I agree

F22 WOULD be a beast if it worked - some pilots refuse to fly them... F35 has already been ripped off by china, it'd be interesting to see the extent of the leaks and exactly how much info they got they're hands on... Let's see what the results are from the operational tests before hailing it the bees knees
