It becomes obvious to most of us that obviously you have never tried to leave the United States of America or been through customs.

I do a dozen interviews a week. They give us a question sheet and we are supposed to ask the questions verbatim. I interview a lot of people who have never had jobs or have worked fast food off and on.
The questions are along the line of "Tell me about a time you had to come up with a plan to accomplish a task or project? How did you plan it? Who else did you involve? What was the outcome? What would you do differently if you could do it again? What did you learn from the experience?" and so on. For each question there is a paragraph. I generally don't bother to ask the whole paragraph, and I paraphrase the entire thing into human talk instead of HR talk.
I interviewed a young man not too long ago who wasn't doing so well on the questions. He seemed nice enough so I just set the questions aside and asked him other questions to get a feel for him while I filled out his paperwork. He was probably 19 or 20.
"Do you have any hobbies?"
"What?"
"Do you have anything you like to do for fun?"
"I like to play sports. I love basketball."
"You ever have to write papers for school?"
"Yes."
"Tell me about one of them."
"I wrote one about Rosa Parks."
"How did you do on it?"
"I don't remember."
"Did you remember anything about her?"
"She was the lady on the bus."
"Anything else?"
"No, I didn't do it til the night before and I just looked it up online."
"You copied and pasted from the internet in a hurry to get it done?"
"Yes." (pause) "I probably shouldn't of told you that."
"It doesn't make any difference, don't worry about it."
I gave him the rest of the paperwork to fill out, and his writing was illegible. The same 3 words written in two places were spelled differently and had no obvious words in them. Something about baking a cake was the best I could come up with. It was at this point I gave him the spiel about doing more interviews for the job and that we would call him to come in for the second part if we decided to hire him.
This is the baseline for high school graduates. You would figure that going to school for 13 years would give you some ability, knowledge, or usefulness. It does not. The entire public education system is a waste of tax dollars. College graduates are only a tiny bit better with the interviews. I occasionally get someone who can answer the questions and does really well. It is high school dropouts as often as it is a college graduate.
Given the obvious failure of our school system, one has to question the rationale behind having it.

Partial public school, partial private school, and partially self taught. I interview at a dozen people a week who can't write a sentence and most of them are high school graduates. You learn dick shit in school except how to obey the uppers.
