The CIA use a similar trick on detainees*.

When we drink we need to do so consciously and almost have to think about it. Many times, weve all chocked whilst sipping a glass of water. I think this has something to do with it. Basically a small amount of water is enough to trigger an involuntary response.

I've been around many pits, seen them fight and all that. If dogs are locked together spraying them in the nose/mouth with a hose will separate them long enough to get things under control.

Thanks for saying that. Peoples 'genuine' experiences are important to share.

If people know this 'may' work they may reach for the hose before going for the lethal option which happens too much.

edit:

My suspicion is that any animal with an epiglottis will be forced to let go momentarily when splashed up the nose with water. Although I don't know this.

When I got attacked by a german shepard/pitbull mix, I didn't have a hose. I did have a shovel, though. Made sure to flat side him so he got the message while not getting too hurt in the process.

I just happened across an episode of 'Cops' last week. ... I couldnt believe it, Some BIG dude has wrestled a violent rotty that attacked him and friends to the ground. .. The dude had it pinned down like he was in the UFC and the dog looked so ill it was sad. The dog could hardly breathe and I thought it was almost dead.

Then the animal control shows up, Big dude gets off the now quiet dog but as soon as he does it turns back into CuJo. It was just terrified.

Yeah, I didn't want to hurt the dog, just let it know in no uncertain terms I was not the human to fuck with. And I was like 14 at the time, so it probably weighed about the same as I did, LOL...ahhh the days when I was skinny.

Pits, American bulldogs, and all other dog considered bullys are the best dogs. If you think the problem is the breed not the idiot owners maybe you should be neutered? So sick of uneducated people pretending to know anything about this shit? I have owned mostly bullys my whole life and never have I had problems. Funny though, there is numerous small dogs in my neighboorhood that would gladly bite me, or you. Its ok, though. My well behaved dogs would never let that happen!

LAGUNA BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Gabrielle Giffords’ husband pulled his daughter’s dog off of a sea lion in Laguna Beach over the weekend.
The incident, which was captured on video, happened around 1:40 p.m. Saturday at Goff Cove Beach by the Montage Laguna Beach.

Retired astronaut Mark Kelly’s 18-year-old daughter, who was on vacation with her father and Giffords, was walking the American bulldog on a leash when the 65-pound dog saw the sea lion, ran off and attacked.


Nathan, who declined to give his last name, happened to be having lunch nearby when he started to film the chaotic scene on his cellphone.

The graphic video, which he later posted on YouTube, showed the young girl screaming while her dog had the sea lion by the neck.
Two other women tried to help until Kelly finally arrived and forced the dog off of the animal.
The sea lion later died.

What if the dog got out in your neighborhood? Do you own a lot of wildlife? Is it that you own a fish farm and it might destroy your business? I give up.
