I'm thinking of trying an amended coco substrate in my tub so all I have to do is water. But I only needed 8 gallons for it.

I'd smoke it, bit then again I've drank a friend's ashes in whiskey

Wonder how well that would work... supercoco? :)
Not as well given the cation exchange properties in compost vs that of coir!

And what's you logic in deviating away from subs supersoil bro?!
It seems like if could be a little to rich almost for an indoor op, but perfect for some outdoor work!
It's selling tho, and has pretty much a cult users lol so there's no arguing that it's not a nice mix.

Just remixed my first batch of soil too! I reclaimed the soil of three girls I harvest at the beginning of the month.
But I'm hella interested in building the best soil that I can and I stock pill a lot of shit tht I find in the thread in my sig titled "Organic soil help",
so maybe you might find something you didn't know before over there, or maybe you can add something I didn't?!

Either way cheers bro. Cheers to success! Loving watching you shit coming together man.
And I can't raise my hand for mixing 50 gals lol that putting in quite a bit of work haha
But as far as Ive learned, soil thats taken care on ONLY get better with time, so I'm hoping that I'm done buying soil bossman :joint:

I can only imagine that once you hit 10 runs with a single 100 gall batch of soil that the microbes will start adapting in awesome ways to specifically tailor to MJ. I mean, yes, you're microbe population is always adjusting itself, but at that point you'd really have a well aged batch, as long as you ammended it accordingly after each run.

Will the microbe population survive drying out after harvest? I'm usually too busy with harvesting/trimming to do anything with the soil at that time, so the pots just sit there and usually they're not super moist to begin with since i don't take'm right after watering... so they're dry by the time i reclaim anything. When I do a really good job, there is not much to reclaim as the entire pot is just a big rootball fused to what little's left of the soil :) I usually only have dirt left over on the boys or if they didn't get enough time to fill their pot out all the way. Sure for example those 8 gallons will have a lot left over when done. The 2.4 and 3.4 gallons probably will have little if anything recoverable, the 5s not sure but guessing they'll have some only because they didn't get a lot of time to grow into them before flower. In the future I plan for that not to be the situation ;) I guess the best way to do it would be to always flower in a way bigger pot than you need and then as soon as you harvest before it dries all the way out mix the reclaimed soil with some additional new soil and amendments the colony should take over I'd think.

No reason in particular... I think the first time I did it I just didn't have all the ingredients for a second can of super soil, but I had part of the ingredients and enough to make up the rest with appropriate amounts of guano, and I had really good results can't say from which batch I didn't keep track :) I've never heard of anyone doing super soil the way I do, so as far as I know it hasn't really been done this way... but anyway, in case you can't tell from this thread, I'm a tinkerer... always gotta be tinkering around the edges and fine tuning. this time it's different super soil, next time it'll be something else. I gotta keep myself entertained. :) Also sub's added and changed the recipe over time, so there's obviously no 'this is the absolute best and no other way is possible to get good results'... sounds like they got their commercial version pretty down but you can't even get it most places, so that's not even an option... if the original super soil kicks ass, i'll probably be sticking exactly to that formula going forward and I'll tinker on something else... if the alt version produces similar or even better results, i'll continue tinkering with the soil. I generally take everything i read online with a grain of salt I don't 100% believe a lot of stuff I read here unless I see it myself... and it's fun to try this stuff out.

I'm gonna check out your thread.

I mean the soil thread by the way lol

BUT, the microbes.....
Some will go dormant and some will die but you always replenish your source of compost anyways...
Probably for that matter.

But I let my root balls dry out for like a week and than I just beat the shit outta them with a shelf hinge lol, until I'm left with a mass of roots.
It's in the soil thread if you have a look.

But a week later, there's still a descent amount of moisture deep withing the rootball, so I don't know how long technically before that root mass will completely dry out. I could type a whole lot and explain to you what I did but I'll just say check out the soil thread and save me the time lol. I'm sure you're good for that.
But the roots don't eat the soil lol, so the soil you potted up in is still there. It's just tedious beating it to death to get that soil off.
It's the bigger chunks of compost that the roots have passed thru that you don't really get back, but for the most part, you can reclaim everything(in my brief experience). I would say out of about 3.5 gallons per plant x 3, I got at least 3.25gals of soil back off of each root mass
I also like to believe that the scraps of roots remaining in the soil make it better or more viable for mycoz inoculation, given mycos need roots to establich themselves ya know?! So I removed most the roots but def. not everything.
The compost and EWCs I added I feel like balance everything out nicely again.

As for your plan of flowering in a huge pot, pulling and repotting, I've followed a few guys who do that successfully so if you look there's lots of info out there about that.
Seems to be proven too, with yield that rival hydro.

But I take lots of shit with a grain of salt too. But when you see someone doing their thing, you notice lol like me in this instance.
Once I have to go shopping for amendments again, I'm gonna look into gettin a few things as possible to get the job done.
After compost, vermicompost, and kelp meal, I feel like nothing else is essential other than a hi P source.
I use bat guano because it also serves as a mineral amendment and a nematacide!
Right now I'm using the Espoma Tomato tomato as an all in one fert and I can't complain.

Had a guy mention rainbow mix to me and it sounded pretty good. You heard of it?

That's not my plan... was just saying you could do that to keep the colony alive. Yeah I've heard of rainbow mix... i think i may've even used it years back... it's supposed to be good but it's nothing crazy and that kind of thing is always way more expensive than just making it yourself.

Just got done planting 4 healthy cuts into solo cups. Hope they do well. Got 2/2 on one plant and 2/3 on another... with the 3rd still waiting... caught one or two others with a stray root poking through but need more than that. Hoping more root soon... mainly just want to make sure I get at least one of each in case I want to keep it... and a few for side by side grows... these will make great side by sides as the cuts are fairly comparable. Wish I'd started them on the seedling mat.

I'm going to have to put the rooted cut in coco. Its getting crazy lone, and only one other cut is showing any root. Sigh.

Week 6 starts tomorrow :-)

I had awesome results my first grow this year... best yields ever... this grow is outshining the last in plant happiness, so hoping for similar yields... if I can duplicate results from first grow, I'm sold. It'll change with summer, but basically with all those LEDs in there I just need to turn the ac on 2 or 3 times a day for 1/2 hour to an hour to keep temps in line. When it's summer the a/c will run often enough to keep the overall house cool that it shouldn't need to run any extra for the grow area. Not possible at all with HPS of similar strengths without great venting. I can't modify the structure i'm in to do that though so it's not an option. LEDs make a larger grow for me possible than I otherwise could do. I was worried the first grow that I was gonna end up with a bunch of airy or weak buds, but I found all those rumors to be false. The only difference I saw was that I grew way more weight than ever before. Don't have to water as often... takes less electric.... so I'm pretty happy.

TimeWreck of the Day -- I found the yielder! This sucker's gonna yield like crazy i can tell check out the crazy side branch budding - I'm calling this one at 3+oz

Couple of the bigger TimeWrecks -- also gonna yield a bunch - expect these also to be 3-4oz+

ChernoJill -- already getting forsty - these look like they should be solid yielders too they're putting off tons of nodes

I like my Chinese led which is cheaper. I grow in a small cab and it does fine, no idea how it'd do in a bigger area. When I get some money coming in I plan to pick up another one or two. One for my smaller cab that I use for veg so far. One for my long low box in which I would have to scrog. And maybe a stronger one to replace my current flower one, not positive if it'd be helpful.

I looked back through my old thread. I ran two romulan and two blueberry in one run under led. From what I can tell, the combined yield of the romulans and bb1 was 25g. Either I forgot to record or it was lost back when the forum screwed up. In my little cab and inexperienced I thought it was good

Did a bit of looking into LED but did away with looking, as I came up on a couple nice deals on Craigslist.
Got a T5 Very High Output for $100. It's 380w total. 4x95w 7200 lumen 4' bulbs.
Then I got the pair of pretty much new 150w HPS's for $125.
Prior to that everything was CFL..
But looking into what you got going on, I got no choice but to go look again man!

But do a couple searches on that 630nm for flowering man! Apparently it's a closer to perfect for flowering as it's gonna get, and the plants show it in some of the side by sides on youtube.

And Voidling, 3 plants gifted you 25 grams of bud? Is that what you're saying??

Hmm I'm trying to figure out my records. Unfortunately looks like I'm missing some info.

So two roms roughly 13g post 1237 and 1238
