Hey guys can you vote and comment if yo can on which is better and why, i dont think £5 is that bad for it being washable

We always used plastic- thought the fabric ones were flimsy & hard to move or stake the plants...
HOWEVER: Now that we found a brand that is tougher and easier to work with- wouldn't use plastic in flower again unless we had to--
We DO still veg in plastic until 4-5 weeks-- then they go into 10-gallon fabric pots! ;)

i just moved from 3 gal plastic, to 5 gal. so far, i have got about 3/4 of an oz more out of the 5's. i hear the fabric makes more roots, so i guess they really improve yeild. but how much, in your exp? thanks. im curious. also. i place my plastic pots on two 2x3s, over a tub, to water, feed, or flush, to catch the runoff. how do you deal with the runoff? are they strong enough to pick up and do the same?

I like the smart pots. A little tougher to lst but girls seem to like em just fine.

Not tougher to lst....20130318_103142.jpg...just different...bigger healthier roots...equals bigger stronger healthier plants....I've done both and I'll never finish in plastic again.....say to move its not like u think.k like its a bag of soil....when I pick up my plants to move em its just like a block of soil..I wouldnt bang it or drop it or anything but its easy...and best ...or I wouldn't b doing it.

i just changed over to smart pots this grow and the one mother plant i had that grew in the smart pot is outgrowing the rest in plastic containers. the roots are growing right to the top of the soil. some are even popping up out of the soil and i had to add more to cover it up. it seems to be really promoting root growth and efficient use of the container space.

nice thanks

Might just be me but I think the soil in a smartpot just feels better and takes water better.
I have to agree

so whats the theory? why is it better? more air???
Yea it allows air to pass through the walls of the fabric but not let water just leak out madly, more airflow

Smart pots def...they allow the roots to breath....just an all around better home for ur roots....the pots are low n wide...I'd go w the 7 gallon

I've always run plastic pots. Currently using 7 gl. I move my plants constantly wet and dry. How sturdy are they? Will they last for 2-3 runs?

theyll last for 2-3 runs max i think, not much more then that. but again its my first time using it so im just guessing. the fabric is strong and the bottom is thicker then the sides but i think the sewed seams would be the weakest link especially with the larger heavier pots.

2-3 runs max huh? Thats weird. I've had some of mine since '09, thats definitely more than three runs, and they're still just fine. Do you really think you should be answering questions that you have no experience with?
