Favorite type of wine/grape?

I've been drinking a lot of different Pinot Grigio's lately. I can say, with resolve, that Pinot Grigio's are hands down the best type of wine I've had to date.

I've had about 4-5 different varieties so far, and they've been consistently great. Not too dry, not too sweet, very light aftertaste.

I've always been a white wine guy, but usually Sauv blanc's..... call me a complete noob, (mostly because I kind of am) but god damn, these are great wines. I think I found my grape of choice!

I've always liked rosé wines too... I'm really starting to get into wine. I've always been a bit of a whiskey snob. lol

What do you guys think? What's your favorite wine/grape type?

I drink whatever is white and is half price :-) that is to say 10 quid reduced to 5 :-) if I'm gonna spend good money I'll generally spend it on a good ale.

If I drink wine I like a good mixed red.
My ex would always get Ménage a trois which is pretty good at a decent price.

Ice wine.. it is sweet, more of a dessert wine. I have tried several different brands, none of them have been bad.
outside of the Ice wines i am not much of a wine drinker.

I'm a big red drinker. I prefer a good solid zinfandel, cab or merlot. That said, I have begun to appreciate the wines coming from Spain, and even Australia. Its amazing how much of a bottle you can get from these newer wine growing regions for a low price. A fun, affordable one we've been enjoying is 7 Deadly Zin's, a blend obviously. Its a good one :).

I've got an $80 bottle of Ledson's Ti Amo that I'm going to open tomorrow night for dinner, its our 8th anniversary.

If you like white wine you might really like Korbel Blanc de Noir sparkling wine. The regular version is about $10 a bottle and the vintage is about $23 a bottle.

Never had, not sure it's available around here, but I'll keep an eye out!

I've had ice wines before, Jost specifically. It's waaaaaaayyyyyy too sweet to drink on the 'regular'.

Blanc de Noir, eh? Sounds similar to Pinot Noir.... similar in taste?
