Learning how to think about thinking
this is the problem i have with my son going to any school, public or private. they teach him what to think, not how to think. we are all part of a system and it seems that the system keeps people from thinking. your so busy with the hustle and bustle of life that when you get a few moments to yourself you dont want to think critically, you just want to rest (or indulge in the b.s. that keeps people right where "they" want you).

i think the next step in human evolution is not physical but mental. we are in a mental limbo. we are smart enough to make technology but not smart enough to design it in a way that it doesnt adversely affect us. we are smart enough to be able to look out into the galaxy...but still follow religion.

How true, we don't teach our kids to think anymore.
They have their electronic games, computers, little if any house chores.
The system has the whole family unit where it wants them.
Non-thinking and vulnerable.

the energy merely gets a new body in other words you [the energy]is born again into a new body. those words that we hear coming out of each others mouths is spirit [energy].so when these bodies run their appointed course we the energy move to another body.by the way we do not die the body does.
So a question.... if the energy from living things goes somewhere after death, like a new body, how do you explain fossil fuel. Oil, coal and gas is the energy that was left over when certain plants and animals died in conditions that did not allow them to decompose, i.e. let microorganisms feed on that energy?

The thing is, these are things we can test. We can put an animal in a closed, isolated system, measure the total energy of that system and then after it dies the total energy of the system will remain exactly the same. Nothing is ever found to be lost to somewhere we can't find, like a spiritual plane or whatever.

i totally agree. i have to work all day to earn money to pay for food, shelter, heat, bills, the future...meanwhile, since i have to work, my kid has to go to school because i dont have the time to "teach" him. this stays the same, seemingly for your whole life (and generations), only the positions change and one day you become the grandpa being cared for and your life is over. its b.s. i tell my kid to never just accept what he is told, always question things. lol, but then when i tell him to clean his room this little mother fucker will by like, "why? wont it just get dirty again?" lol and i cant help but be moved at the logic this 9 year old boy uses sometimes.

I think... if you are honest with yourself, you will come to find accept that this idea may be wrong. I am not saying it is certainly wrong, i am merely stating that believing with certainty in any idea that you cannot be certain of... is misguided and dishonest. For how can you be certain of an idea... if you cannot even be certain that this reality isn't just a dream or a simulation?
I know because every time I pinch myself it hurts...:wall:

Believing that its impossible to know if god/souls exist is an idea too, so are you being completely honest with yourself? Can you accept that you dont know if its possible to know these things? Also, even if this is a dream or a simulation, how does that make the things we experience less real?

But yet, inside... you still think you are special enough to be gifted with the secrets of the universe. As the Ego whispers enticing thoughts into your mind saying "Hehehe... i still know there is a god, i still know what happens when i die, i still know the meaning of the universe."
Is the same type of ego not present in this statement? "Tehehe... I still know that its impossible to know god, I still know its impossible to know what happens when you die, I still know that my philosophy is the only one that should be taken seriously. Im so honest with myself!"

I think... that telling yourself you know something with certainty... when you really don't know, is lying.

You can pretend to know with certainty... but that's exactly what everyone else does...

It is not up to me to provide evidence that god does not exist... because i don't fuckin know, because there is no fuckin evidence that it does exist... it is up to you, the believer, to provide me... and to yourself... that there is substantial evidence that god or gods exist, and there is none to be found...

Wave-Particle Duality...
Ok things actually started to make sense after hearing that little phrase. Never could wrap my mind around the "a particle can be both here and there at the same time" bs.

actually I wasn't trying to prove anything to you but since you ask I will prove the existence of god...I am god before me was none I am the first and the last...now you prove that I am not GOD... whoops you can't because you don't believe:hump::hump::hump::hump:

So, if an only if I believe you're god, I can disprove that you're god?

So, if an only if I believe you're god, I can disprove that you're god?[/QUOTE A believer would recognize me...because I am the truth, and that he can not deny the nonbeliever knows me not and cannot know me. I am the alpha and the omega and all that is in between. NOW RIDDLE ME THIS:blsmoke:

This kind of reasoning always makes me smile, because god simply cannot lose. It's the same thing as saying if you believe in Leprechauns, you will be able to see them, and if you don't believe in Leprechauns, you won't be able to see them. If something actually exists everyone is able to see it regardless of belief...
