Looking good j. But is it me or what, that the canna website nutrient grow guide seems confusing to me as far as the weeks are numbered?

I think we all have asked that same question on the Canna Nutrients thread. I have my downloaded copy marked like this and it works well for me.
For a typical 8week strain:
12/12 Flower starts at Vegetative Phase 2 - run 2 weeks.
Generative Period 1 - run 2 weeks.
Generative Period II - run 1 week. (PK13/14 additions)
Generartive Period III - run 2 weeks .
Generative Period IV - Run 1 week (flush)
If you have a longer running strain, stay on Gen Period I until all the small buds connect up & down the cola, then move to Gen Period II with the PK13/14 adds to start the fattening process..

I have 4 good beans in the cooker now, one is la diva, spoetnic, snowcap, critical jack, I plan on trying for bigger plants than I have now...so I think 2 1/2 gallon buckets...

Who-kie, if you haven't tried the 2gal "ringed" utility bucket before, you have a surprise coming..especially with coco....just be really patient when drilling the drainage hole in the side so that you get a perfect 2" reservoir. You will enjoy less watering work and mixing nutes is a no-brainer with 1g/per feedings. I pulled down some 58" plants in a 2gal bucket right after growing that same strain in a 3.5 gal bucket...no difference in plant size just a larger watering quantity. I write it off to the majic of the "hempy method" as some things don't make sense and never will.

I don't know what ringed is? but some of the seeds say they make very large plants,so I'm going to try them,,,I need to order some more coco, so I think I'll get the canna coco you recommended.

I got some sharks breath growing right now.. this will be my second attempt at S.B... My seeds are feminized and the first three I grew were small crappy looking plants with low yields and poor immune system, but the smell was very strong and had a intense lemony scent..
Hopefuly I got better yielding phenotypes going this time.
Have u grown SB before? Are your seeds feminized?

Who-kie, here is a screen snap.....the "ring" buckets have stiffeners molded around the top and are a different dimension than a standard cleaning pale or car wash bucket.....I specify this simply do to the exact 2" I mentioned earlier. Other bucket styles won't apply and you would have to experiment with hole height for an even 1gal feed per bucket.

Cool jberry , I've seen you over in the canna nutes thread...welcome over. This is my first grow with SB as I do something different every grow (variety freak). Yes these are fem's and I did have problems with 2 out the 5 I had (limp sprouts, weakly looking). Even one here was a runt and still hates nutrients but it's putting out a nice single cola. After a hugely successful grow with G13 Pineapple Express, I ran into the same sprout problems with Barney's Farm LSD and Blue Cheese..couldn't handle nutes, looked like it was locking out all the time and just didn't look right. I thought it was something wrong with me but I stick to the same proven technique that brings me success over time given a decent chance with a healthy sprout. Thankfully this SB has me "back in the saddle". Stay tuned....

43days- 2 days into week 7, I can now say assuredly that I’ll get my 4oz per plant if not more. Nothing much to report except bud girth....they're just sitting around getting fat. I've took my recirc fan off the timer and have it on all the time...got to keep humidity down in the final weeks. Bud rot is so disheartening...will lay you low. I don't know why but I expected something frostier with this strain...these buds are sure sticky however. I keep a bottle of IPA around to wipe my hands after handling them. For Canna nute fans, I'm running the "Generative Phase III" mix. I am running the max allowable "Boost" this time up to finish...earlier grows I used the minimum due to $...but it all comes back to you. I measured up 3 last feedings worth anticipating flush week 8 or 9. Will watch the trich's like a hawk...I don't like the couch lock effect with too many amber's. At least that is the belief here on RIU...I do still wonder if the couch lock thing is true......

I've seen 5g's work for outdoor growers...big plants. But after doing this a while indoors with 3.5g buckets in my limited space you get tired of these things:
Hauling water
Buying nutes
Calculating nute mixes
Mixing nutes
Standing there humped over pouring water on each one
Rinsing your mix buckets
Another thing to consider is the number of plants and your light coverage. The original Dali Hempy advised against 5g....said all you needed was 10L for a 9' sativa....and he continually proved it. I for instance get 1/2 lb. from 2 plants in 2g buckets under 400w. My heights come in anywhere from 36" to 58" but the bushiness and number of bud sites is my concern. The magic is beyond me...if I were a soil grower, I'd be in larger buckets to get what I get from a 2g hempy with a good medium (mapito, coco, rockwool ect.). I ain't going back to dirt...no way.

Thanks for explaning, I have limited height, about 4 feet so I need small, my new grow space is full sized room...about 10x10x8 high, I want to try a scrog, did you see the screen I came up with on WOH? I'm going to try using a self watering outside flower box, and see if I can do it...I will try with the bag seed first...

I saw that screen and thought it was very creative....2gal will do you good for 4' restrictions...you might even try the 5qt black buckets at wallmart if you have height constraints...watering more often is the only downside.

When I harvest a plant really early to make hash (like 4 weeks early) I have made some real couch lock/ fall asleep hash and presumably the trichs would have been crystal clear.
... I personally like Super strong weed/hash. .. I have a high tolerance so it's nice to be 'obliged' to smoke less.

Some of the bag seed and a few of the good ones I have growing are maturing, how do I know when they are done? like can they be overdone?
I have red hairs on most but some are still white, so I have been cutting off buds and letting the rest of the plant finish.

Middle of week 7, girls are showing their age. Fan leaves buried in the canopy are yellowing and falling off. The larger cola's leaves are curling and yellowing. Not all due to age but my recirc fans in my climate don't help either. I've failed to say during this grow...SB (or these phenos) is not the prettiest plant to watch grow. Leaf color is one of those "olive drab" types with serrations that remind me of an autoflower. If it' weren't for the massive colas I'm getting, this strain wouldn't be very exciting to a grower. My wife touched a top and smelled it and her eye's when up, so it is a beautiful citrus smell they emit (she's very picky). Sticky, sticky and more sticky.....hopefully the end result is a connoisseur's dream.....as advertised.
