One of the few regrets I have in my life is the fact that I had to sell my guitars, when times are tough and money is tight a mans gotta do, what a mans gotta do....so here are my regrets

The top one is my Charvel / Jackson model 6. The back is painted with "dragon scales" with larger scales at the tailstock, and small scales at the headstock. That's Potpimp on the front. The bottom one is my '67 Gibson Trini Lopez that I bought new in 10th grade. The amp is a 100w Marshall Master Lead Mk2 with new, matching Russian tubes. The volume really does go to 11.
On 4 it will make your ears bleed. This is the amp that Jimi, the Who, the Allman Brothers and may others played.

FIL plays each sat (blue grass country type twangy stuff..) bunch of old timers show up every sat for as long as I can remember

i jsiut started playin guitar in january of 2012, i love it, i bought a cheap acoustic Ibanez to learn on for like 160 bucks, my son was playing near it one day though and it fell over cracking where the neck meets the body, now it doenst hold a tune very well, pretty shitty because like i said its my first guitar and i planned on keeping it forever and 2 because i had to buy another guitar, it a shitty ass japan made Takamine i think the brand it, the guitar actually sucks but for only 50 dollars, it sounds great and gets the job done, especially just for learning, it just sucks becasue the action is pretty high and unless u have an expensive guitar or at least a decently made hand crafted guitar it usually makes for muhc easier playing and much lower action, my takamine and ibanez had terrible action but the one i have now is the worst, hurts my fingers, but i still love it, im trying to save up for a martin or taylor, im leaning more toward martin as i think they sound and resonate better, good luck, i will post a pic of my guitar when i get a little time and my camera
ps,. damn gouia for someone who doesnt play you sure have alot of really nice guitars. dont woryr though ill take one off your hand lol

And it looks to be time to harvest as well.
My greatest guitar trick was playing with my older brothers band in the Ships bar in Key West, the song was "Free bird" and I ran the base line and it's so easy you can do it drunk (ask me how I know).
My brother (the real guitar player in the family) has one of these - it was heavily damaged (water) during a hurricane & the insurance company brought it lovingly back to life.

People tend to buy POS guitars with strings 1/4" from the frets, dull tone, and bad harmonics to learn on; I did the same thing. At least you get some decent callouses.
Both of mine have amazing action, great tone and flawless harmonics. The Trini has a 7" maple block - neck through the body design - and holds a note for as long as you want. It's the blusiest sounding guitar I've ever heard but it also an amazing "rock" tonal range as well. The C/J just wants to be plugged in, amp turned on 11 and rock out. I've got a couple of digital signal processors that I use as well.

thas what i figured to PP, i have nice callouses and i figure get a shit one to learn on in case i dont like it, but i ended up liking it alot, so now as soon as i get the xtra cash im buying a martin....maybe a taylor if i play one that is really good. but its doubtful, martins play so much better IME,and IMO not hating on taylor they are awesome to but i just like the sound of martins more

My friends suggested that I keep my action high in order to strengthen my fingers and to toughen up my fingertips when I started playing. I've seen many new guitar players jump right into the electric with all the pedals, thinking if they had the toys then it wouldn't be long before they had the sound, man did they get a rude awaking.
There is a reason why Hendrix, Clapton, Van Halen, Vai, SRV and a concert hall full of others are the incredible talent they are {were}, they never stopped playing, never put that damn thing down. You can be playing for a lifetime and still feel there's more to learn, music is eternal and takes about as long to master... if ever.
BTW there's nothing like playing a 12 string and have every string in harmony, to strum a blues lick and have the vibrations strum your spine, to be one with the music...whether alone in your room or on stage playing for hundreds of thousands, when you finally nail that tune, when you've gotten the bridge just right.
You feel incredible.
