Really you rent and pay property tax? Also, when you pay property tax they don't ask you what you make but you are taxed on the value of the property.
*if you don't think the landlord works in property tax to the price of rent, you are imagining a model that's set to fail in no time at all.

property taxes went up about $300 a year here (for a smaller property like mine) over the last couple years. seeing as how my landlord has about 300 of these types of properties, i don't think he wants to foot the $90,000 extra every year. something tells me that is the reason why my rent went up $50 a month on my last renewal (but thankfully not on this latest renewal).

so yeah. renters do pay the property tax.

The landlord pays the tax with your rent. You don't directly pay if you don't own the land...
Exactly, I have only rented for about a 1 yr. period of my life and I certainly don't remember being responsible for the property tax. I don't live where most of the forum members do, so I was just curious if a tenant would retain tax responsibilites in some parts of the world.

Obviously the tenant is charged enough to cover most property expenses (or what would be the point of managing 300 properties), the way it was phrased originally I thought you physically went to the sheriff and payed them yourself.

oh, woops.

no, i don't pay them directly. but yeah, i have no doubts that he's paying the property taxes with the dollars i hand him on the first of each month.

I'm just taking the stance of what is better for society. I don't support sloth people. I think if people are given the opportunity to strive they will work hard. But society has made life and working so meaningless.

I support hard work when its partnered with passion. Working hard just to buy shit is worthless. People waste their lives thinking that wealth is the ultimate goal. Happiness is my ultimate goal and I realize i can't be happy unless the people around me are.

I look around and I see fat sad tired people everywhere.

Ahhh the American dream.

People like you who peg themselves on a higher level than the average working person. I am part of the working poor and so are 95 percent of the people on this forum.

I have never gotten social assistance of any kind. Jump off your high horse and look at things from a different point of view instead of hurling useless insults.

I'm sorry spelled a word wrong. I'm not infallible like you.
actually i let your misuse of the word hoard and it's homonym Horde slide until YOU climbed on your hobby horse and began telling me how i was raised, what i value, aand how i was "Bred"

My horse is a quite reasonable size, but you are still a whingeing lefty fool.

i do not "'peg myself on a higher level"' than anybody except lazy shiftless assholes like you who expect you shouldnt be poorer than the guy down the block. you may not have ever qualified for a handout but you sure are demanding that everybody else get a beatdown to drag them down to your level. thats what your demanding when you start insisting society punish those who dont do what YOU think is best for THEIR shit.

YOU are a numbnuts,
YOU have not contemplated the results of your proposed "reforms''
YOU have only thought of how shit would effect YOU, and disregarded the effect on anyone else
YOU have successfully dehumanized everyone who has more money than you, and everyone who doesnt believe the way you do.
YOU have demanded "Society Should Punish" anyone who uses their money the way they want. and that makes YOU the asshole.
YOU should be punished by society for being a dumbass.

this is actually not always the case.

the last house i lived in was a rental, and the nominal owner didnt pay the mortgage, the tax or in fact ANYTHING.

we were notified by the bank that the house had been foreclosed, and the new owners wanted to move in when we still had 3 months on our lease. *

in a down market many "landlords" just take the rent money and letthe property go into foreclosure so they can buy a new property in the depressed market, and if it falls again, they simply rinse and repeat.

*it is fortunate we had 3 months on our lease or we would have been subject to a 3 day eviction proceeding. the bank was quite pissy about our landlord's shenainigans.

teddy roosevelt would never espouse the idea that people who SAVE should be punished for their thrift.

if you think he would espouse this kind of idea then you are CRACKED

Nutzac doesnt propose punishing trusts, corporate interests or banks who engage in manipulation of markets, he wants to punish PEOPLE for saving money because he thinks they should be "creating jobs" with that shit.

i notice you havent expressed YOUR opinion on the idea of societal PUNISHMENT for people who save their money rather than invest in risky ventures.

but then you preferr to stand in the crowd and throw stones, if you express a position the crowd might turn on you, or you might be exposed as a hypocrite.

this is the same reason abandonintellect keeps his phony philospohy of "libertarian socialism" such a closely guarded secret.

i hold the opposite view. i dont cast a stone at anyone unless my position is PERFECTLY CLEAR. so they may respond. thats what you call being a Grownup.

if you want my opinion on his idea, i think it might be workable. put a floor of a couple billion on it (anyone below a couple billion may choose to exempt themselves), put a cap on how much they would have to invest, and federally guarantee the investment against loss. people get jobs, infrastructure gets built, billionaire sees some ROI. win win win.

of course, i wouldn't propose that idea, that's just my thoughts on how something like that might work. it's not a punishment, that's just your hollow talking point. and teddy would probably like that idea.

I'm sorry... When I see a fucking retard like you it makes me think that the chinese farmers got it right - they put their retarded babies in burlap bags and toss them in the river... Be thankful you weren't born in China shit-for-brains.

Do we decide what they have to invest in? I thought you were an aggregate demand guy? Wouldn't spending money on blow and hookers be just as good for the economy as investing in infrastructure? That was the argument you made about the stimulus. Why did it change?

I was referring to people who "Save" more than they need. But who am I to dictate how much you need?

your notions ARE a personal attack since i am a saver, not a borrower. when you decree that anyone who saves up to buy something should be punished you directly attack me and all the other cats like me who dont think getting a loan or borrowing on a credit card are the ideal solution for getting what you want.

you want everybody in debt borrowing endlessly to create "jobs" but that borrowing doesnt create anything, it destroys everything.

thats why we are in this financial mess, people like you wanted shit but havent figured out how to pay for it through thrift and saving.

you declared that savers should be punished, so yes. youre a dolt, and i dont give a squirt of piss what your "net worth" might be, you still dont get to decide how much i save, or how much property i can own, or what i can do with MY shit.

I was referring to people who "Save" more than they need. But who am I to dictate how much you need?
and now theres a threshold for allowed savings. what is that magic number Bwana? since you are obviously the village hetman, you should tell us what to do.

or do you style yourself as The Doge, or perhaps Il Duce? maybe youre going for a classic like Fuhrer or Dear leader?

be clear or shut your pie hole.

somehow, i don't think he was talking about those hoarding $807.73 in their savings account.

I've already stated my point on that and you are making things up now?

lol now I'm the one who sparked these personal attacks right?

And finally the last part I was making the point that I am not infallible.

I'm not one of those people who think they are right about everything. I have ever changing ideals. If you can show me a more logical meaningful way to solve a problem I will accept it if you can show me results.
