For your sake, I'll hope otherwise. My ex was induced. Thirty-six hours of tough tough labor. Her resolve to go natural broke like glass on the first big swell of contractions. She was so exhausted at the end they had to use the big suckerator to drag our firstborn headfirst out of her spent meat. Kid's head looked like a four-dollar muffin for two weeks. Now, at fifteen, I'm convinced there was massive damage. ~teenagers

Well I read that if you are not mostly effaced when they induce, it will be a long and hard labor.
Spent meat? Good lord, I hope you didn't say that to her. lol
This friday I will be one week past my due date. Most doctors don't let you go past 2weeks.
Baby was 8lbs on friday. Babies can gain about an ounce a day at this point. So she will prob be 8 1/2lbs on this friday. (there is a 6oz + or - on the ultrasound measurements)
I've also read that they can try a hormone inserted into the vagina (concentrated and artificial version of what is found in men's sperm) that can ripen the cervix and start contractions. I will definitely ask about that first.
Pitocin is the scary stuff but I have even read about that being able to be given at low doses.
We shall see what the doctor says. Hopefully there is good news and my cervix is fully ripened.
Gnight all.
