anybody ever have bugwars when they where kids? like catch a big ass wolf spider and a praying mantis and put them in a container and shake the shit out of em?
wasps vs spider. is a good one, big fish vs turtle is great so is crayfish and lot of other things.
Beta's supplement their O2 requirements with air - they have what is called a labyrinth (a very primitive lung), so the water MAY be low in O2 and then again maybe not.

he is in a gallon fishbowl. has some "grass" and a tiki he was laying up against. he is swimming much better. seems to be much calmer. i thought these suckers could live in anything...isn't their natural habitat puddles of water in asia?
do fish feel pain? the eternal question. i am having a hard time NOW that i have fish, with using a live fish for bait. i must be nuts. i grabbed some nice chub for trout fishing the other day and cringed every time i put one on my hook, smh. i need therapy

I read that fancy betta fish are not the same kind as the more hardy, natural variety that live in puddles. Some guy on this site actually corrected me on that awhile back. He described the betta bowls as "cruel".LOL swimmingly LOL thank you.

biggest thing about fish is don't overfeed em. Just makes the water funky. Don't feed em more than he can eat in 30 secondsfred appears to be fine today, he has been eating and swimming like normal.
i am wondering if there some kind of contaminant in their last bowl change?
gonna keep an eye on him for sure. idk anything about fish or fish tanks, obviously. i may get a little 10 gallon tank and give him more space. i gotta find a place to put it first.
