Hi again, RIU. Seems like it takes me two tries to start a grow.. So this time it's for real. Only, I've switched strains to Purple Kush 'cause I had a line on some clones. Picked 'em up today!

No idea how old these fine ladies are.. anyone want to take a guess? At $10 a pop, plus a freebie runt, I'm not complaining. Sadly though, they're in soil..

Room: 4x4x7 tent
Lighting: Hydrofarm FLT28 2-foot 8-tube HO T5, A51 SGS-160, 400W Philips CMH in a HPS ballast & "star" reflector
Ventilation: 6" can fan + filter
Irrigation: Aquatop NP-306 496 GPH submersible pump running various drippers/sprayers.
Water: Under-sink RO system, soon come.
Nutes: Botanicare Pro Grow & Pro Bloom & Cal/Mag+, Canna Coco A&B & Rhizotonic, Superthrive.

I'm going to attempt to run this grow as a soilless grow, using perlite and Canna Coco. I'll give the clones another week or two of 20/4 and then move them to 2gal smart pots, filling with soilless mix.

Let the good times roll

You might want to bring everyone up to speed with what lights, specifically, you are using

Wha Philips cmh are you using? I love the 330 all starts. Fonz did some good grows with the retro whites I think.

Anyway I'm subbed on this one too

Starting with the T5 ballast (192W combined), early veg. When things get a little bigger, I'll add in the SGS-160. Then the T5 will get benched for the Phillips 400W Retro white (CDM400S51/HOR/4K/ALTO) alongside the SGS-160 in flower mode.

Looks like my near-500 GPH pump isn't enough to do 4 multi-stream stakes, let alone 6.. The other option (micro bubblers) don't cover much of an area at all.

(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Maybe I'll try to fashion some drip rings..

Your pump should easily handle 6 plants. I am using a 320 gph/2 plants no room for more, but should easily handle 4

Have you seen what I am using? Pretty sweet

Yeah, not with the multi-stream emitters I was trying to use. The holes are too big, so I couldn't get enough pressure with more than 3 emitters.

Ended up making 4" diameter rings of 1/4 tubing, and poking holes for water to drip out. This is about as close to Hydro Halo drip rings as I am going to get. Those things are pricey!

The manifold I have is a quad, so two of the lines have tees (for 6), but on the split lines there's not so much of a spray from the holes as there is a steady drip. If this becomes an issue, I'll cap one of the manifold ports and split every line in two, for equal pressure.

In 60 seconds the 6 rings put out about 1.5L, or 250 mL/ring, roughly. This is good, since my timer only goes as low as 1 minute.

Once they're in the 2gal smart pots I'll set up the drip rings. I figure I'll start at 1 watering/day, and check to see when the top dries out.. then I'll set it up to feed in intervals of however long it takes.

Looks good. Those hydro halo's are good, although I do drill the water holes out to a slightly larger size.

I too was wondering how to run multiple grow pots off one pump and was considering a manifold, but this works perfect. one line from the pump then 'T' off to each grow pot with individual shut off valves. All purchased from cheaphydroponics This pic might help

Smartpot'd and outfitted for drip. Works good.. Currently only doing 1 minute/day. I've ramped up the ppm to about 600, and they've taken on a nicer green than what they had when I started. The runt clone has put out some good looking new growth.

Also got them tied down a bit. Bitches be leanin' all over the place. Only 1 accident, and it's splinted and will be okay. I've trimmed down quite a bit on the main stems and have started pinching/bending to try and direct energy to the secondaries.

These two are in the lead for chosen secondary stem thickness:

Is that really a drip feed on the party cup lolololo. I wonder if that would be allowed in the next party cup comp. Hahaha. Puff and chron and fran have some serious competition..

It has yet to be discussed, but was on my list of potentials. I won't thread jack too much, but I think some ingenuity is afoot for the next comp... myself included.

Dude do it, or at least PM me, I love ideas. As long as you don't mind me using them in the comp :P

I'm quickly running low on floor space.

I wanted to run 3, 1x perlite, 1x 50:50, and 1x Coco with a mini Ebb & Flow system.
You're allowed to run more than 1? For how long? Ebb is usually recirculated, right? Gonna use gravity-drain single tube feed? This one shall be interesting, indeed!

So it looks like the clones were too far into flower when I got 'em.. Dunno how they could've started, but the reveg process continues (slowly). Plants have only been throwing 1/3 blade leaves, and pretty lazily, too.

Also having a really hard time getting the chosen low growth to speed up.. LST is helping, but I've turned to more radical pinches/bends. Maybe it's the stress that's making them put out smaller leaves?

Another thing that's concerning is the length of the main over the length of the low growth. A couple clones seem to be catching up, but I don't know if they will ever fully catch up. If they don't (or I'm impatient), I'll train the main in a horizontal circle back to the trunk, and let it go from there (once the vigor of the secondary matches the main).

Edit: Also I just realized that I'll probably have to do this for every mainline node, won't I? Clones don't top symmetrically like seedlings. Unless.... before it's time to top, have the light closer to keep node distance tighter, then top the main and choose two of the nodes below it? Gah, wish my first time was from seed.
